Our air conditioning service in HP7
Most air conditioning needs its own electrical supply from the consumer unit. Under Part P, a new circuit is notifiable unless a registered competent person does it, and our NICEIC approval means we install and certify it ourselves. Common call-outs are for a portable unit with a hose out of the window and commercial rooms that are too warm for staff, on wall-mounted split systems, ceiling cassettes and air-to-air heat pumps.
The first job on site is protection: dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work and nothing is moved without asking you. After that, anything electrical is made safe and we start. The work on site takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system, and we tidy up before we leave.
- You send photos, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- Output, positions and price are settled before anything is booked.
- On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
- Connections are made, checked for leaks and pulled down to a vacuum.
- The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.
How we quote
What you pay depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, the access and the parts and time the job needs. You get a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises.
Why people in HP7 choose us
- MCS certified heat pump installers
- A site survey and a fixed-price quote
- We work on all the leading brands
- Electrical work covered by our NICEIC approval
How to get a quote
Quoting starts with a diagnosis, from a site survey or, where the job is straightforward, from photos and measurements. Then you get a fixed price so you know the cost before we begin.
Near you in Coleshill
Around Coleshill, our work takes us to homes and businesses near Coleshill Church of England Infant School, The Red Lion pub and Amersham Hall. You will also find Amersham School (2.1 miles north-east) and Church of All Saints (under half a mile south-west). Coleshill’s nearest station is Amersham station, about 2 miles north-east of the centre. Other landmarks nearby include Great Missenden (4 miles north-west) and Amersham Hospital (1.1 miles north). For a walk, there’s Long Grove Wood.
Where we install in HP7
Across HP7, from Amersham, Little Chalfont and Amersham on the Hill to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. We survey every property before we quote.
Refrigerant work is done by F-gas qualified engineers for a certified company, and the electrics come under our NICEIC approval.
Coleshill: Chenies Manor House (roughly 4.6 miles north-east) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on. Older streets near Church of All Saints may fall within a conservation area, so we check the planning position before choosing where the outdoor unit goes.
Different systems, different jobs
Electrical supply
Most systems need their own circuit from the consumer unit. We are NICEIC approved, so we fit and certify the circuit ourselves and that covers the Part P side.
Offices, shops and commercial rooms
Offices and shops typically need several units and sensible central controls. Sizing takes account of occupants, equipment and windows and we plan the installation around your opening hours where we can.
What affects the cost of air conditioning
The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:
- Whether we need access equipment for high-level work
- What electrical work the job needs
- What kind of system it is
- The pipe route between the units
No two properties are the same, so we price each one individually. The system, the access, the pipe routes and the parts involved all play a part.
Helping us quote
What to send for a quote:
- A few photos of the room and the wall the unit is on, or will go on
- A close-up of the unit’s label showing the model number
- Where the property is and what kind of building it is
- A short video of any fault, such as a noise or a flashing light
The quickest way to a quote is to send pictures: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Tell us the address and what you need, and many jobs can be priced from that.
What air conditioning can’t fix
To be straight with you, some problems need a different answer:
- Work that needs permission from a landlord or the council
- Stuffy rooms that need fresh air rather than cooling
- Problems with a gas boiler or the radiators
For landlords and property managers
For anyone managing more than one building, we can quote and plan the work across all of them. Each property gets its own records, so the files stay tidy.
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit produces a dated record, plus the F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved, so you can show what was done and when.
HP7 questions
Do you work in HP7?
Yes. HP7 is part of the area we cover, as part of our area across London and the South East. We’re based in East Grinstead, West Sussex.
What does F-Gas certified mean?
Companies working on equipment that contains F gas must be certified by an approved body, and each engineer needs the right qualifications too. It means the refrigerant in your system is handled legally.
Can I fit air conditioning or a heat pump myself?
Anything that involves the refrigerant needs an F-Gas qualified engineer from a certified company. That is the law, not just our preference, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We’re happy to quote for the full job, supply to commissioning.
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
Usually, yes. We check your consumer unit on the survey and include any electrical work on the quote, and our NICEIC approval covers the installation and certificate.
Where does the outdoor unit go?
It can go on a wall bracket, at ground level or on a flat roof, wherever the pipe route, airflow and servicing access work best. Noise near bedrooms and boundaries is part of the decision and position can affect planning.
Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?
The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We will work out which band applies to yours.
Will I get records for the system?
Yes. Every visit is written up, including F-Gas records for any refrigerant work. Keep them with the manual and the warranty documents.
