Air conditioning in DA1: how it works

We install leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. We recommend a model on the survey and explain why it suits the room, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. The work covers ceiling cassettes, multi-split systems and ducted systems, and people most often call us about not knowing which system, size or brand to choose and rooms that get too hot to sleep or work in.

The first job on site is protection: sheets over the floor and any furniture nearby and nothing is moved without asking you. After that, anything electrical is made safe and we start. The work on site takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer, and we tidy up before we leave.

  1. We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from photos and details for simple jobs.
  2. The quote is fixed and shows the equipment, where each unit goes and what’s included.
  3. On the day, we fit the indoor and outdoor units and run the pipework, cable and condensate drain.
  4. Power is wired in, the joints are proved leak-tight under pressure and a vacuum pump draws out air and moisture.
  5. The system is commissioned and checked in every mode, and we hand over the controls, F-Gas records and warranty information.

How we quote

A single unit or a whole estate, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the equipment. The price is fixed before we start, and the quote sets out the VAT.

Why choose AirCon Doctor

  • We work on all the leading brands
  • Manufacturer’s warranty terms explained on your quote
  • Covering London and the South East
  • Electrical work covered by our NICEIC approval

How to get a quote

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before anything goes ahead.

What’s near Dartford

Typical jobs here are in properties near The Rose pub, Central Park and Stone Lodge School and the streets around them. Nearby too are Leigh Academy (0.7 miles south-east), Dartford Primary Academy (less than half a mile south-east) and Church of the Holy Trinity (less than half a mile west). Dartford has its own railway station: Dartford station. Nearby you will also find Dartford Library (within half a mile west) and Bluewater (2.1 miles east). Not far away are Wansunt Pit and Sawyers Lake.

Air conditioning across DA1

Across DA1, from Dartford, Bexley and Temple Hill to the villages, homes range from older terraces and cottages to new estates and flats. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go, then a fixed-price quote.

From London flats to coastal homes and country cottages, London and the South East have every kind of property. Our work is F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved for the electrics and MCS certified for heat pumps.

Dartford: Hall Place and Gardens (roughly 2.8 miles west) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on. If you work from home near Dartford station, a home office that overheats is one of the easiest rooms to cool.

Signs you need air conditioning

Computers, screens, lighting and people all give off heat. A home office with a couple of screens, or a meeting room with a few people in it, warms up quickly, even on a mild day.

Reasons to give us a call include:

  • Uncertainty over the right type and size of system
  • A loft room or top floor that bakes in summer
  • Expensive direct electric heating
  • A business premises that overheats in summer

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Simple care keeps the air moving through the system, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you can’t see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.

Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

Rented and managed buildings

If you look after several properties, we can plan visits across the portfolio and price them together. Every address has its own paperwork, so the files stay tidy.

Portfolio owners often want one contractor and one number. Our area covers Greater London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.

What air conditioning cannot fix

Air conditioning cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It won’t put right:

  • A building fabric problem such as single glazing or no loft insulation
  • Damp from leaks or a lack of ventilation
  • An installation that needs consent nobody has given yet

Common questions in DA1

How long does it take to fit air conditioning?

A single-room system is typically fitted in a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer and the quote says how long to expect.

Which manufacturers do you install and repair?

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and explain why.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, with visits at the interval your system and the manufacturer need. Each visit is recorded and F-Gas records kept where they apply.

How much does air conditioning installation cost?

A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. A two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT, including supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation. You get a fixed price before any work starts.

Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?

Yes. We work on systems fitted by other installers as well as our own from all the leading brands. Tell us the make and model and send any paperwork you have.

Do you provide F-Gas records?

Yes. It’s the record a manufacturer or the next engineer will ask to see: a dated note of the work, with refrigerant details where they apply.

Can the outdoor unit go on a roof or at ground level?

We agree it with you on the survey. It needs space around it to breathe and room for an engineer to service it, and a position facing a road can bring extra planning considerations. We explain the options and any permissions to check.
