Air conditioning in DA2: how it works

What you can do yourself, and what needs us
Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. Under the F-gas rules, engineers need their own qualifications and the company must be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.
For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do where the manufacturer’s manual explains how. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.

How do I know what size unit to get?
Floor area is only part of it. Windows, the direction the room faces, the roof above and the people and equipment in it all count, and we take them all into account on the survey.
How does the warranty work?
Warranty comes from the manufacturer and depends on the brand and product. For instance, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years and we explain the terms for your brand on the quote.
Can you set up regular servicing?
Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, set at the interval the system and the manufacturer’s terms need. Each visit is written up, with F-Gas records where refrigerant work is involved.
