Our commercial air conditioning service in Brighton and Hove

The right system depends on the building. Splits for small rooms, cassettes for open-plan ceilings, ducted for a hidden finish and VRF or VRV for many zones on one system. We explain the options and why we’d choose one over another. Typical jobs include R410A systems getting dearer to top up and work raised by a TM44 inspection, across wall-mounted split systems, multi-split systems and server and comms room cooling.

Testing is the last part of the visit wherever the system can be switched on. Then we show you what we have done and answer any questions, and anything that needs a follow-up is pointed out there and then. All told, the work takes a matter of days for a modest fit-out, with larger buildings phased floor by floor or zone by zone.

  1. It starts with a survey on site, looking at the space, the people in it and the equipment.
  2. A fixed-price quote follows, covering the system type, the layout and the timing.
  3. We agree a programme that suits the site, including evening, weekend or phased installation.
  4. Indoor and outdoor units, pipework, condensate and controls are installed and the electrics connected.
  5. We commission the system, record the refrigerant details and hand over the controls and documents.

Pricing in Brighton and Hove

Putting the work off seldom saves money. Small problems, from blocked filters to slow leaks, tend to get worse, and a system working harder than it should costs more to run. If you’re unsure, phone 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier for straight advice and a fixed price.

Why choose AirCon Doctor

  • One number for homes and businesses across London and the South East
  • Diagnosis first, then a fixed price
  • An F-Gas certified company, as the law requires
  • MCS certification for heat pump work

How to get a quote

Every quote starts with a look at the job, from a site survey or, where the job is straightforward, from pictures and measurements. Then you get a fixed price before any work starts.

Business air conditioning across Brighton and Hove

Businesses across Brighton and Hove share the same legal duties: F-gas leak checks on larger systems and TM44 inspections where total cooling output is over 12 kW.

Our area stretches from Greater London through Surrey, Kent and Sussex to Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, and Brighton and Hove sits within it. You reach the same people wherever you are in it. Brighton and Hove includes coastal places, where salt in the air speeds up corrosion of outdoor coils and fixings. We choose positions and fixings with that in mind.

Brighton: For a church or hall like St Martin's Church, any outdoor unit needs the right consents first. A bursar or site manager at a school like Fairlight Primary School will want the install planned around the school calendar, and we work to that.

What we’re called out for in Brighton and Hove

A TM44 report, an F-gas audit or an insurer’s question can prompt the call. We carry out the work and make sure the paperwork is in order and you have the evidence to hand.

Any of these is worth a proper look:

  • Older systems on refrigerants that are getting scarcer
  • Comms rooms without enough cooling
  • New tenancies needing cooling and heating
  • Staff complaining about the temperature

What commercial air conditioning cannot fix

We’d rather tell you now than sell you work that won’t help, so these are the things it won’t cover:

  • Fire strategy sign-off
  • Building work beyond the installation itself
  • Gas boiler or heating plumbing work

How we price commercial air conditioning

The diagnosis comes before the price. The main factors are:

  • How many units are involved
  • One-off work versus a regular service cycle
  • Whether we need access equipment for high-level work
  • What electrical work the job needs

Every job is different, so we price each one individually. The equipment, how we reach it, the route between units and the work needed all play a part.

What to send for a quote

Simple jobs can often be priced from pictures and some basics. Send what you can of the following:

  • Where the outdoor unit is, or where you’d like it
  • The rating plate or label on any existing unit
  • Your installation or service records
  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is

For commercial air conditioning in Brighton and Hove, give us a ring on 07833 053749 or send an email. Tell us what kind of property it is and what you’d like done, plus some pictures if they’re to hand. Enquiries get a reply the same working day.

System by system

Server and comms rooms

Planned maintenance is especially important for continuous cooling, and a maintenance contract keeps it on schedule.

Ceiling cassettes

A cassette needs space above the ceiling and a route for the condensate. Many include a pump to move the water away and that’s checked when it’s serviced.

Brighton and Hove: your questions answered

Which accreditations do you hold?

As the law requires for refrigerant work, we are an F-Gas certified company. We are also NICEIC approved, MCS certified for heat pumps and Checkatrade members.

Why use an F-Gas certified company?

Certification shows a business is approved to work on systems that hold F gas refrigerant. In Great Britain, that certification is a legal requirement, not an optional extra, and AirCon Doctor is certified.

Do I need planning permission?

It depends on the system and the property. In England, an air source heat pump on a house can be permitted development if it meets set conditions, including the MCS 020(a) noise check, while a unit that only cools isn’t covered and needs checking with the council. Listed buildings, conservation areas and flats have extra limits. This is general information, not legal advice.

When is a TM44 inspection required?

The threshold is 12 kW of effective rated output, with inspections at least every 5 years. The inspection is done by an accredited assessor, and we do the follow-up work.

How does the warranty work?

The manufacturer provides it, on its own terms. Some brands make regular servicing a condition so it’s worth keeping the service records.

Do I need to service the system to keep the warranty?

Check the manufacturer’s terms. Some warranty terms require the system to be serviced regularly by a qualified engineer, so check the terms or ask us. Keep every service record either way.

Are you TM44 assessors?

An accredited energy assessor has to carry out the inspection, and we are not assessors. We get the system ready and act on the findings.
