- A unit showing a fault code
- F-gas leak checks falling due
- Weaker cooling than last year
Air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in New Zealand
Whether a leak check is required depends on how much refrigerant the system holds and which refrigerant it is. Under the GOV.UK rules, 5 to under 50 tCO2e means a leak check at least every 12 months, and 50 to under 500 tCO2e means every 6 months. We tell you which band your system falls into and carry out the checks it needs. Common call-outs are for weaker cooling than last year and no service record for the last year or more, on ceiling cassettes, VRF systems and multi-split systems.
We plan the trip to New Zealand and can service more than one unit in one visit.
For a fault on a system that may still be under warranty, send us the make, model and installation date. We’ll explain how the manufacturer’s terms are likely to apply before anything chargeable is done.

Air conditioning servicing in New Zealand: the local picture
Draw a one-mile circle round the middle of New Zealand and it takes in 2 conservation areas. Church of St Mary, listed at grade I, is one of roughly 12 protected buildings and structures in the half-mile around New Zealand’s centre. For most visits that makes no difference. It only comes up when an outdoor unit has to be replaced on a protected building. New Zealand is about 38 miles from central London, well within the area we cover from our base in East Grinstead.
If you run premises near Aylesbury station, ask about servicing several units in one visit. For a school like Elmhurst School, maintenance visits can be booked out of term.
New Zealand is about 1 mile west of Elmhurst, in Buckinghamshire. Our engineers cover New Zealand for air conditioning servicing and across the rest of Buckinghamshire. Our area takes in 263 places across Buckinghamshire, large and small. The nearest of our city pages is London, around 38 miles from New Zealand.
From Dunsham Lane, Drayton Road and Cannock Road to the smaller roads in between, nowhere is left out. We work across the HP19 and HP20 postcode area for air conditioning servicing. We also cover Elmhurst (1 mile east), Aylesbury (1 mile south), Watermead (1 mile north-east), Quarrendon Estate (1 mile west) and California (1 mile south). We also work in nearby towns such as High Wycombe (14 miles south), Chesham (12 miles south-east), Buckingham (14 miles north-west) and Amersham (14 miles south-east).
Near you in New Zealand
We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around The New Zealand pub, Buckinghamshire UTC and The PACE Centre. New Zealand’s nearest station is Aylesbury station, about 0.8 miles south of the centre. Well-known places in the area include Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital (less than half a mile south) and Dinton Castle (3.8 miles south-west).
What you can do yourself, and what needs us
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.
Before you call us about a fault, a few checks can save a visit: check the mode, the set temperature, the remote’s batteries and the breaker. If the breaker trips a second time, leave it off and phone 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.
Managing agents and facilities teams in New Zealand
Records are where property maintenance often slips. Every visit is written up, with F-Gas records wherever refrigerant work is involved, ready for a tenant, a buyer or an inspection.
We regularly work with managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works, and we’ll send a fixed-price quote.
New Zealand: your questions answered
Can you do air conditioning servicing in New Zealand?
Yes. New Zealand is one of the places we cover. To start, phone us on 07833 053749 with a few photos.
How often should air conditioning in New Zealand be serviced?
Once a year suits most home systems. Some manufacturers’ warranty terms ask for regular servicing, so it’s worth keeping the records.
What does an air con service involve?
We clean the filters and coils, clear the condensate drain and check the fans. The electrics, controls and refrigerant circuit are tested too plus a leak check on systems that need one.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We will work out which band applies to yours.
Do you protect the property while you work?
We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and we tidy up as we go. At the end, we clear up and show you what we have done.
Is a regas part of an air conditioning service?
The service checks how the refrigerant circuit is performing, but does not include adding gas. If gas has been lost, the right step is a leak search and repair, then a regas, priced before we start.
Do you do service contracts for air con?
We do. A contract sets out how often we visit and what each visit covers with the price fixed when you accept the quote. It takes the scheduling off your plate.
When something else is needed
It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:
- Heat from large windows, roof spaces or equipment beyond the system’s capacity
- A failed compressor, fan motor or circuit board, which needs a repair
- A system short of gas because of a leak
Not sure which it is? You can ring 07833 053749 or send an email and we will tell you honestly before booking.
Where we work
- Multi-split systems
- VRF systems
- Ducted systems
- Air-to-air heat pumps
- Wall-mounted split systems
- Ceiling cassettes
How the visit works
Protection comes first: sheets over the floor and any furniture nearby, and we ask before moving anything. After that, anything electrical is made safe and we start. It takes a short visit for one split system, longer for multi-split, ducted or commercial plant, and we clear up before we go. A few photos help us make the most of a visit to New Zealand.
- It begins with a few questions about the make, the rooms served and any symptoms.
- Inside, the filters, coil and drain tray of each indoor unit are cleaned.
- Outside, the coil is cleaned, the fan checked and the area cleared.
- Electrical connections, controls and refrigerant performance are tested.
- Anything we find is explained, with a fixed price if it needs a repair.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, high walls or locked plant areas
- Keep pets out of the rooms we are working in
Getting a quote
Every quote shows the VAT clearly, and the rate that applies to your job is stated. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it on the quote. For a fixed-price quote, call 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk.

From one of our customers
“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
