Brighton and Hove · Air conditioning servicing
Hove air conditioning servicing
Air conditioning servicing across Hove and nearby, from a site survey or diagnosis to sign-off with the price fixed before work begins.
- A service that is overdue
- New noises from the indoor or outdoor unit
- Weaker cooling than last year
When something else is needed
Air conditioning servicing can’t fix everything, and we will tell you before work begins. It does not solve:
- Rooms that gain heat faster than any unit could cope with
- Poor original installation, such as drains without a proper fall
- A system that is too small for the room it serves
If in doubt, call us on 07833 053749 or use the quote form and we will say what we think before booking.

About our air conditioning servicing in Hove
An air conditioning service is a check and clean of the whole system, indoor and outdoor units together. Filters and coils are cleaned, the drain is cleared, and the electrics, controls and refrigerant performance are all checked. We carry out air conditioning servicing for homes and businesses in Hove and the rest of Brighton and Hove, whatever the make. Common call-outs are for leak check records that need bringing up to date and no service record for the last year or more, on VRF systems, multi-split systems and ceiling cassettes.
In a town like Hove, most servicing is for home systems, with offices and shops too. Most homes only need a service once a year, while hard-working business systems may need more.
Whatever the visit, you get a written record: commissioning details for an installation, a fault and repair note for a repair, or a record of the service. File it with the manual so it’s to hand next time.

What else we do in Hove
What we do, step by step
The first job on site is protection: sheets over the floor and any furniture nearby and nothing is moved without asking you. Then the electrics are made safe and the work begins. The work on site takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit, and we tidy up before we leave. The more we can see first, the quicker the visit to Hove.
- We ask about the system: the make, the number of indoor units and any problems you’ve noticed.
- We run the system first and see how it’s performing.
- Dust and grime come off the filters and coils, and the drain is flushed so water runs away properly.
- Next come the terminals, the controller and the refrigerant side, with a leak check if the system’s size makes one a legal duty.
- We leave you a record of the service and explain anything we found.
Preparing for the visit
- Make sure we can reach the outdoor unit, or where it will go
- Let us know where we can park and unload
- Dig out any previous service or F-Gas records

Aftercare tips
Here’s the after-treatment advice, short and simple:
- Clear leaves and debris from around the outdoor unit
- Check the condensate pipe outside is not blocked or crushed
- Do not wait for a small drip to become a leak
After the service, you get a record of what was done, with the checks carried out and anything we’d recommend. Keep it with the manufacturer’s paperwork so you have the whole history together.
The single most useful thing you can do is keep the filters clean. Most indoor units have filters you can slide out and rinse and the user manual explains how often.
Hove questions
Is Hove in your area for air conditioning servicing?
We do: Hove falls inside our working area. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.
Does sea air affect air conditioning in Hove?
It can. Hove is within about 1 mile of the coast, and salt air speeds up corrosion on outdoor units. Regular servicing, with the outdoor coil cleaned and checked, helps a coastal system last.
Will you regas my air conditioning on a service?
The service checks how the refrigerant circuit is performing, but doesn’t include adding gas. If it’s low, a leak repair comes first and the regas follows with a fixed price for each step.
Which brands do you work with?
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For a new system, we suggest the make and model that suit the property and explain why.
Can landlords and managing agents book you?
Yes. From one rented home to commercial buildings, the approach is the same: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.
Do you look at the job first?
Yes. Every job is looked at first, either on a site survey or from pictures and details for simple jobs. A fixed-price quote follows.
Will you make a mess?
Protection goes down first: sheets over the floor and nearby furniture. Any drilling is agreed with you first, and we clear up the dust and offcuts before we leave.
What the work involves, system by system
Refrigerant performance and leak checks
tCO2e is the refrigerant charge in kg multiplied by its global warming potential, divided by 1,000. So 3 kg of R32 is roughly 2.0 tCO2e, and the same amount of R410A is roughly 6.3 tCO2e. We check the label on your system and tell you where it sits.
Condensate drains and pumps
Slime and debris build up in drain trays over time. Cleaning them helps with drips and with musty smells.
Servicing in Hove: local notes
Hove lies within about 1 mile of the sea. Near the sea, rinsing and checking the outdoor coil for corrosion is an important part of every service. The Cliftonville Conservation Area lies close to the centre of Hove, within about a third of a mile. There are 11 conservation areas within a mile of the centre of Hove. On the National Heritage List, around 87 entries fall within 0.5 miles of the middle of Hove; Church of All Saints (grade I) is one. Should a unit ever need replacing on a listed building or in a conservation area, ask us about consent first. VOA council tax data put about 62% of homes in the Hove area before 1919, and about 78% of households live in flats, according to the 2021 Census. In flats, outdoor units are often on balconies, roofs or high walls, so tell us how we reach yours.
If you run premises near Hove station, ask about servicing several units in one visit. Schools such as St Andrew's CofE (Aided) Primary School can book servicing for half term or the summer break, when rooms are empty.
