About air conditioning in HP14
Single-room systems are typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, two rooms on a multi-split £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT. Those ranges include supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation, with commercial and VRF systems priced after a survey. Typical jobs include old electric heaters you’d like to replace with something more efficient and an old system that needs replacing, on ducted systems, air-to-air heat pumps and multi-split systems.
Refrigerant work is done by qualified engineers working for an F-Gas certified company, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. On the day, both are in the same hands. On site, it takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer.
- First comes a site survey, or pictures and measurements for a straightforward job.
- Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
- The indoor unit is fixed in place, the outside unit positioned, and the connecting runs put in tidily.
- Power is wired in, the joints are proved leak-tight under pressure and a vacuum pump draws out air and moisture.
- Last comes the run-up: every mode checked, the controls explained and the paperwork left with you.
How we quote
Every job is different, so each one gets its own fixed-price quote. The system, the access, the pipe routes and the parts involved all make a difference.
Why choose AirCon Doctor
- We diagnose before we treat
- F-Gas certified company
- We work on all the leading brands
- MCS certified heat pump installers
How to get a quote
Some jobs can be priced from pictures, while others need a survey. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, the quote is fixed before anything goes ahead.
Around Stokenchurch
We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around Four Horseshoes pub, Stokenchurch Methodist Church and Stokenchurch Primary School. Stokenchurch’s nearest station is Saunderton station, about 3.4 miles east of the centre. For a walk, there’s Bald Hill and Yoesden.
Air conditioning across HP14
From Stokenchurch, Lane End and Naphill outwards, HP14 has every kind of home. We survey every property before we quote, then a fixed-price quote.
Across London and the South East, we reply to enquiries the same working day, and our emergency line is open 24/7.
Stokenchurch: About 4.2 miles east stands West Wycombe Park House. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one. If your home is in one of the older streets near Stokenchurch Methodist Church, it’s worth checking whether it’s listed or in a conservation area before an install.
System by system
Wall-mounted split systems
Bedrooms, offices and living spaces are where wall-mounted units are most often fitted. We choose the position for even airflow and easy filter access rather than blowing straight at the bed or desk.
Multi-split systems
A multi-split runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit. It’s a neat answer when space outside is limited and several rooms need it, with each room controlled separately.
Why it fails
In shops, offices and restaurants, the heat comes from customers, staff, equipment and lighting as well as the sun. Comfortable staff and customers are the usual reason businesses get in touch, and some rooms need cooling for the equipment as much as the people.
Common reasons people call us are:
- A portable unit with a hose out of the window
- A home office that warms up with screens and equipment
- A room that is unbearable on warm days
- Rooms heated by plug-in heaters
Keeping the system healthy
Think of this as the after-treatment advice, short and simple:
- Avoid setting it far colder than you need
- Refit filters properly after cleaning
- Have the system serviced once a year
- Keep the handover documents somewhere safe
We show you how to take the filters out and clean them. Clean them every few weeks when the system is in heavy use, or as the manual recommends, and keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves and clutter.
Don’t ignore small changes. A drip, a noise or a flashing light is often an early sign of a fault, and early repairs are typically simpler.
What affects the cost of air conditioning
Every job gets its own quote. This is what makes a difference:
- Whether the existing supply is suitable
- Whether it’s a simple split or a larger system
- How easy the units are to reach
- Whether it’s a one-off job or part of a maintenance contract
Several rooms, units or sites on one quote can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every unit or room you need covered and we’ll price it together.
Before you get in touch
When you contact us, it’s useful to have:
- The address and the type of property
- A short video of any fault, such as a noise or a flashing light
- The fuse board and where it is in the property
- Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
Need a price for air conditioning? Please ring 07833 053749 or email us with a few details about the property. We’ll explain what we’d recommend and why, then send a fixed-price quote before you commit to anything.
HP14 questions
Do you provide F-Gas records?
Yes. It’s the record a manufacturer or the next engineer will ask to see: the date, the work, and any refrigerant added or recovered.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes, day and night. When you call, tell us the make, what’s happening and any error code, and we’ll talk you through the next steps.
How quickly will you reply?
On the same working day you contact us. After that, we agree a survey, diagnosis or installation date that suits you, and you get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
How long does air conditioning installation take?
A single-room system is normally fitted in a day. Multi-room and ducted systems take longer, depending on the pipe routes and access and the quote says how long to expect.
Do I need planning permission?
That depends on what’s being fitted and where. In England, an air source heat pump on a house can be permitted development if it meets set conditions, including the MCS 020(a) noise check, but a cooling-only unit is not covered, so check with the council. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas have tighter rules. This is general information, not legal advice.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
Do I need to service the system to keep the warranty?
Check the manufacturer’s terms. Some manufacturers make regular servicing by a qualified engineer a condition of the warranty, so it’s worth checking. Keep every service record either way.
