Fixed-price quotes for air source heat pumps in Twydall

The diagnosis comes before the price. The main factors are:

  • The brand, model and parts involved
  • One-off work versus a regular service cycle
  • Whether the existing supply is suitable

Typical ranges are on our prices page, but your price depends on the job in front of us. For a fixed-price quote, phone us on 07833 053749 or use the quote form, and we will explain what it covers.

Before you get in touch

To speed up the quote, send us:

  • The paperwork from the last service, if you have it
  • Your consumer unit or fuse board
  • The postcode and whether it’s a home, flat or business

Quotes do not take long. Call or email with a few details and we’ll come back to you the same working day. If we need to see the property first, we book a survey at a time that works for you.

How we handle air source heat pumps in Twydall

A £2,500 grant is available for some air-to-air heat pumps, with conditions. The system must replace the existing fossil-fuel heating and meet the home’s full heating demand, it must be installed by an MCS certified installer, and it must be in a home, so an add-on next to a boiler is not eligible. We are often asked to deal with deciding which kind of heat pump suits the home and moving away from fossil-fuel heating, on radiator systems, underfloor heating and hot water cylinders.

Whether a home near Twydall has mains gas makes a difference to the grant. Homes heated by oil or LPG with no mains gas can get an extra £1,500 on the Boiler Upgrade Scheme until March 2027.

Equipment warranty comes from the manufacturer, on its own terms, and we explain those terms on your quote. Terms differ from brand to brand, and we’re happy to talk you through them.

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrics need care too. Ask us to quote for a move instead.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep the system working properly:

  • File the MCS certificate safely
  • Read the manufacturer’s warranty terms for your brand
  • Use the settings explained at handover

In cold, damp weather the outdoor unit runs a defrost cycle from time to time. You might see steam or hear the unit change note and it’s part of how the system works.

Keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and stored items. It needs good airflow to collect heat from outside, so keep it clear all year.

What happens on the day

Testing is the last part of the visit wherever the system can be switched on. Then we explain what was done and answer your questions, and anything that needs attention later is pointed out. All told, the work takes anything from a couple of days for air-to-air to the best part of a week for air-to-water with radiator changes. Because we plan from photos or a survey, a job in Twydall can normally be finished in one visit.

  1. First we find out about the property, the heating you have now and what you’re hoping for.
  2. The survey measures heat loss room by room and looks at radiators, hot water and the best spot for the outdoor unit.
  3. We send a fixed-price quote that shows the equipment, the grant position and the VAT.
  4. Fitting day: the outdoor unit is placed, the indoor side connected and the controls set up.
  5. We commission the heat pump, complete the MCS paperwork and talk you through the controls.

Before we arrive

  • Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
  • Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
  • Make sure someone can let us in at the agreed time

Ask for a quote

Every quote shows the VAT clearly, and the rate that applies to your job is stated. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it in writing rather than guess. For a fixed-price quote, give us a ring on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.

Air source heat pumps in Twydall: the local picture

The coast is only about 2 miles from Twydall. Coastal sites are worth mentioning at the survey, as salt air affects the outdoor unit and its fixings. About 66% of homes in and around Twydall date from 1945 to 1972, according to VOA council tax data, and the last census (2021) found about 60% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Homes of that age often have cavity walls that may or may not be insulated, which the survey checks. Houses normally have space for an outdoor unit and a hot water cylinder.

Restoration House lies about 3.6 miles west. Owners of listed homes need consent before a heat pump is fitted, so it’s one of our first questions. If your home is one of the older properties near Holy Trinity Church, the survey checks whether it’s listed or in a conservation area before the outdoor unit position is chosen.

FAQs for Twydall

Is the coast a problem for outdoor units in Twydall?

It can, as Twydall is within about 2 miles of the sea, where salt in the air is hard on coils and fixings. The outdoor unit position, its fixings and regular servicing all help near the sea.

Will you come out to Twydall?

We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.

Can landlords and managing agents book you?

Yes. We work for homeowners, landlords, letting and managing agents, and businesses of every size across London and the South East. Let us know who the records should go to.

Does the grant cover air-to-air heat pumps?

There is a £2,500 grant for air-to-air, but only under strict conditions. The system must replace the existing fossil-fuel heating, meet the home’s full heating demand, be installed by an MCS certified installer and be in a home.

Will skipping a service affect the warranty?

That depends on the brand. Where servicing is a condition, a missed service could give the manufacturer grounds to refuse a claim, so we explain the terms on your quote.

How long does a heat pump installation take?

An installation takes several days for an air-to-water system with a new cylinder, less for an air-to-air system. We confirm the timing after the survey, and you can phone 07833 053749 or email us to book it.

Is there VAT on a heat pump?

Not on a home installation at the moment: HMRC zero-rates heat pumps installed in residential accommodation until 31 March 2027, and 5% applies after that. Businesses and hotels pay the standard rate, and for air-to-air systems we confirm the VAT on your quote. This is general information, not tax advice.

A customer’s words
