Air source heat pumps around Stanwell
The Stanwell Conservation Area lies close to the centre of Stanwell, within about a third of a mile. Church of St Mary, listed at grade I, is one of roughly 26 protected buildings and structures in the half-mile around Stanwell’s centre. Where a home is affected, the outdoor unit position is settled with Spelthorne council, usually the planning authority here before the heat pump design is finished. The Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures date about 44% of homes across Stanwell and its surrounding area to the post-war years, 1945 to 1972. For homes of that age, the survey checks the insulation, the radiators and the hot water setup.
Period properties close to Church of St Mary can suit a heat pump, though insulation and any heritage protection are checked first. Every heat pump design starts with a room-by-room heat loss calculation.

Air source heat pumps for homes and businesses in Stanwell
We begin with a room-by-room heat loss survey. It shows how much heat each room needs on a cold day, so the heat pump and the radiators or indoor units can be sized properly. Guesswork leads to systems that are too big or too small. Typical jobs include questions about listed buildings or conservation areas and not knowing whether a grant applies, on homes heated by oil, LPG or gas, air-to-air heat pumps and hot water cylinders.
Cottages and older homes near Stanwell can lose heat faster, so a proper heat loss calculation matters. Sometimes insulating first makes more sense.
Some manufacturers make regular servicing by a qualified engineer a condition of their warranty. Where yours does, a regular service with us keeps that side in order and each visit is recorded.

Stanwell: your questions answered
Is the heat pump grant available in Stanwell?
Stanwell is in England, where the Boiler Upgrade Scheme runs. Air-to-water and ground source systems attract £7,500. Air-to-air gets £2,500, but only where it takes over from fossil-fuel heating and covers the whole home’s heating demand. We hold MCS certification, so the application is ours to make for you.
Will you come out to Stanwell?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes. Maintenance contracts are part of what we do, with visits at the interval your system and the manufacturer need. Each visit is written up and F-Gas records kept where they apply.
Do you work on all makes?
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and explain why.
Do you look at the job first?
Yes. Photos often do the job for simple work, while larger systems and faults that need testing are seen on site.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. Homeowners, landlords, agents and businesses all book us across London and the South East. Tell us who should receive the paperwork.
Are you F-Gas certified?
As the law requires for refrigerant work, we’re an F-Gas certified company. NICEIC approval, MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership sit alongside it.
What air conditioning won’t do
In fairness, there are a few things this work won’t fix:
- Gas boiler work, such as disconnecting the old boiler, which needs a Gas Safe registered engineer
- Improving the building’s insulation
- Formal advice on VAT for your situation
If you are not sure, just give us a ring on 07833 053749 or send an email and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

What owners can safely do
For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do, if the manual says so. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.
Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.
For landlords and property managers
Running several properties is easier with one contractor. We work across London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.
Landlords, letting agents and managing agents book us, not only the people who live or work in the property. Tell us who the contact on site is and who should receive the paperwork, and we’ll keep everyone informed.
How it works
Everything the job needs comes with us, from tools and test equipment to ladders and dust sheets. You only need to give us clear access to the units, or their planned positions, and to the fuse board. The visit takes from a couple of days to around a week, depending on the system and how much of the heating changes. Let us know how to reach the outside wall or outdoor unit at your property near Stanwell.
- First we talk through the property and the current system.
- We measure heat loss for every room.
- The design covers the heat pump, emitters, hot water and outdoor unit.
- You get a fixed price, with any grant and the VAT set out.
- Installation, commissioning and MCS registration complete the job.
Preparing for the visit
- Arrange for someone to be there to let us in
- Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
- Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
