Leave it or put it right?
Choosing between air-to-water and air-to-air is easier with the facts. Air-to-water heats radiators and hot water, and can attract a £7,500 grant where eligible; air-to-air heats and cools rooms, and only qualifies for £2,500 under strict conditions, and we explain which fits your home. A system that is left with a fault, or without a service, normally costs more to run.
Whatever the property, the quote works the same way: what’s needed, how we reach it, the parts and the labour. Call for a fixed-price quote and we’ll go through it with you.

About our air source heat pumps in Noak Bridge
Until 31 March 2027, a heat pump installed in residential accommodation carries 0% VAT, with 5% from 1 April 2027. This is HMRC’s energy-saving materials relief, which applies to homes rather than businesses. For air-to-air systems, we confirm the VAT on your quote. Please treat this as general information rather than tax advice. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, homes heated by oil, LPG or gas and underfloor heating, and people most often call us about no space for a hot water cylinder and deciding on the outdoor unit position.
Whether a home near Noak Bridge has mains gas makes a difference to the grant. Until March 2027, homes on oil or LPG without mains gas can get an extra £1,500 through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
Refrigerant work is written up in the F-Gas records: the work carried out, the refrigerant involved and the quantities. File them with the system’s paperwork, as a manufacturer or a future engineer may ask to see them.

When something else is needed
Air source heat pumps can’t fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It does not solve:
- Improving the building’s insulation
- Promising eligibility for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme
- Tax rulings, which only HMRC can give
If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or send an email and we’ll say what we think before booking.

The process
There’s very little for you to do on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and we take it from there. Before we leave, the area is tidied and we explain what we’ve done. Everything the job in Noak Bridge needs is worked out beforehand.
- First we talk through the property and the current system.
- Every room’s heat loss is worked out on site.
- From those figures we size the heat pump and decide on radiators, cylinder and outdoor position.
- A fixed-price quote explains the cost, the grant position and the VAT.
- Installation, commissioning and MCS registration complete the job.
Getting ready for the visit
- Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
- Name a contact who can meet us at the agreed time
- Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in

FAQs for Noak Bridge
Is the heat pump grant available in Noak Bridge?
Yes, the scheme covers homes in England, including Noak Bridge, if they qualify. Whether your home qualifies, and for how much, depends on the type of heat pump and the heating it replaces. We hold MCS certification, so the application is ours to make for you.
Will you come out to Noak Bridge?
Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.
Do I need new radiators for a heat pump?
The heat loss survey answers that, room by room. Rooms where the radiator is big enough stay as they are, and any that need upsizing are set out in the quote.
Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?
Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. You get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, the approach is the same: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.
Can I do any of the installation myself?
The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That is a legal requirement, and manufacturers expect it for their warranty too. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.
Does servicing affect my warranty?
For some brands, yes. Read the manufacturer’s terms, or send us the make and model and we’ll explain them, and book the service at the interval they recommend.
What a heat pump looks like in Noak Bridge
The centre of Noak Bridge lies within the Noak Bridge Conservation Area. For a heat pump, permitted development does not apply within the grounds of a listed building, and in a conservation area the outdoor unit cannot go on a wall or roof facing a road, so we check with Basildon council, typically the planning authority here where needed. At about 24 miles from central London, Noak Bridge sits inside the area we cover across London and the South East.
Older homes near Church of St Nicholas may need extra checks for planning and heat loss before a heat pump is designed. Sizing comes from the heat each room loses on a cold day, not from the size of the old boiler.

A customer’s words
“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
