Fixed-price quotes for air source heat pumps in Combe

Before we fix a price, we need to know a few things. We look at:

  • The pipe route between the units
  • The brand, model and parts involved
  • Whether we need access equipment for high-level work

No two properties are the same, so each one gets its own fixed-price quote. The equipment, how we reach it, the route between units and the work needed all play a part.

What to send for a quote

Simple jobs can often be priced from pictures and some basics. Send what you can of the following:

  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is
  • Where the outdoor unit is, or where you’d like it
  • The remote or wall controller showing any error

To get a fixed-price quote, call us on 07833 053749 or drop us a line with the address and a few details about the rooms or units involved. A few photos make it quicker. You will hear back from us the same working day.

Air source heat pumps for homes and businesses in Combe

For an air-to-water heat pump, the price is £8,000–£16,000 (0% VAT on homes), before the grant. In England and Wales, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme offers a £7,500 grant towards an eligible air-to-water installation and the installer makes the application. Not every home qualifies, so we check eligibility before you commit. We’re often asked to deal with replacing a combi boiler with a heat pump and radiators that may be too small for a heat pump, across radiator systems, hot water cylinders and air-to-air heat pumps.

If your home in or near Combe is heated by oil, LPG or electric heaters with no mains gas, an extra £1,500 is available through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme until March 2027, on top of the £7,500.

Whatever the visit, you get a written record: commissioning details for an installation, a fault and repair note for a repair, or a record of the service. Keep it with the system’s paperwork, because it helps with any later warranty question.

Managing agents and facilities teams in Combe

Portfolio owners often want one contractor and one number. Our area covers Greater London and the South East, so work at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works, and we’ll send a fixed-price quote.

The process

Protection comes first: dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work and nothing is moved without asking you. Then the electrics are made safe and the work begins. The work on site takes from a couple of days to around a week, depending on the system and how much of the heating changes, and we clear up before we go. Seeing the property in photos first means the trip to Combe can be planned properly.

  1. It begins with your house and the heating it relies on now.
  2. We measure heat loss for every room.
  3. We design the system, check the radiators and cylinder and look at the outdoor unit position.
  4. A fixed-price quote explains the cost, the grant position and the VAT.
  5. Then it’s fitted, commissioned and registered with MCS.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets out of the rooms we’re working in
  • Move furniture away from the wall where we will be working
  • Arrange for someone to be there to let us in

Combe: your questions answered

Is planning permission needed for a heat pump in Combe?

That depends on the building and where the outdoor unit goes. Central Combe is a short walk from the Combe Conservation Area. A heat pump on a house can be permitted development if it meets the conditions, including the MCS noise check, but not within the grounds of a listed building, and in a conservation area the outdoor unit cannot face a road. Where necessary, we check with the local planning authority (for Combe, usually West Oxfordshire council).

Will you come out to Combe?

Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. We are based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

Are you F-Gas certified?

F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps, plus Checkatrade membership. Our engineers also hold the individual F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.

Can I do the refrigerant work myself?

The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That is a legal requirement, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.

What does F-Gas certified mean?

For refrigerant work, both the engineer and the company need the right F-gas credentials. Ask to see proof before you book anyone and we will gladly show you ours.

Will skipping a service affect the warranty?

Check the manufacturer’s terms. Some manufacturers make regular servicing by a qualified engineer a condition of the warranty, so it’s worth checking. Either way, keep a record of every service.
