Need air conditioning repair in Combe?

Do you need air conditioning repair in Combe?

When ice forms on the pipes or coil, something else is wrong. Low airflow from blocked filters or a failing fan, or low refrigerant from a leak, are the common causes. Turn it off and let the ice melt, then call us.

Customers usually contact us after spotting something like this:

  • A flashing light and a system that won’t run
  • A suspected refrigerant leak
  • Ice on the pipework or the coil

Schools such as Combe CofE Primary School can report a fault on the 24/7 line and have non-urgent work done out of term.

What your quote should include

  • What records you get at the end
  • Whether the manufacturer’s warranty depends on regular servicing
  • Whether a new circuit is included and who certifies it

How we handle air conditioning repair in Combe

A diagnosis call-out is from £75 + VAT. Once we know the cause, you get a fixed price for the repair before any work goes ahead, so you can decide with the facts in front of you. Common call-outs are for rattling, buzzing or grinding noises and a unit that has lost refrigerant, on ducted systems, multi-split systems and heat pumps.

We plan the trip to Combe so the repair can be finished in one visit where possible, unless a part has to come from the manufacturer.

Looking after a system is mostly common sense: clear space around the outdoor unit, the cleaning the manual describes and a service at the recommended interval. That also helps where the warranty terms ask for regular servicing.

When something else is needed

Air conditioning repair cannot fix everything, and we will tell you before work begins. It does not solve:

  • A unit that was never big enough for the room
  • An R22 system that has lost its refrigerant
  • A building problem rather than a system fault

If you’re not sure, just ring us on 07833 053749 and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Parts of the system we cover

  • VRF systems
  • Heat pumps
  • Multi-split systems
  • Ceiling cassettes
  • Ducted systems
  • Wall-mounted split systems

How the visit works

Anything involving refrigerant is handled by F-Gas qualified engineers, as the law requires, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. On the day, both are in the same hands. The work takes an hour or two to diagnose most faults, with the repair time depending on what we find. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Combe.

  1. You tell us the symptoms, the make and any error code.
  2. A diagnosis visit finds the cause with proper tests.
  3. We explain the cause in plain English and give you a fixed price.
  4. Once you’re happy, the repair is done and any refrigerant work recorded.
  5. We test the system in operation and leave you a note of the fault and the fix.

How to prepare

  • Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process
  • Mention any parking restrictions near the property
  • Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go

How to get a quote

To get a fixed-price quote, ring us on 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk and tell us about the property and what you need. Photos help a lot. You will hear back from us the same working day.

What the work involves, system by system

VRF systems

On larger VRF systems, the refrigerant charge can be big enough to need regular leak checks under the F-gas rules. Any leak we find and repair is recorded, and the operator keeps the records.

Multi-split systems

On a multi-split, one outdoor unit serves several indoor units, so we check whether the fault is in one room or the shared outdoor unit. That shapes the diagnosis and the repair.

FAQs for Combe

Is there an emergency air con repair line for Combe?

The emergency line is open around the clock, and Combe is one of the places it covers. Have the make, model and error code ready, and we will talk you through what happens next.

Do you cover smaller places like Combe?

Yes. Combe is within the area we cover across London and the South East. A few pictures and the postcode are enough to get things started.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, the approach is the same: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. Tell us what you have and how it’s used and we’ll propose a schedule and quote for it. Leak checks required by the F-gas rules can be built in for larger systems.

Do you work on systems someone else installed?

Yes. We start with a proper look and tell you honestly what we find, including any issues with how it was fitted. Any work is priced before it goes ahead.

My system uses R22. Can it be repaired?

Replacement is normally the better answer. New R22 cannot be used to service systems, and parts for older units are getting harder to find, so a new system on a modern refrigerant is typically the better investment.

How long will you be on site?

Your quote will say how long we expect to be there. In most cases, it takes anything from an hour or so to a full day, depending on the fault and the parts.

A customer’s words

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
