Air con installers in New Pound
Our engineers work in New Pound on supply, installation and commissioning of air conditioning for homes and businesses, from one room to a whole building. A look at the job first, a fixed-price quote and written records at the end.
- Working from home in a room that gets too warm
- A loft room or top floor that bakes in summer
- Not knowing which system, size or brand to choose
What we do, step by step
If the system has to be off for part of the visit, we tell you before any work starts so it does not catch you out. For businesses, we can normally work room by room or zone by zone. On site, it takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems. A few photos help us make the most of a visit to New Pound.
- First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
- Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
- The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
- Before it runs, the pipework is proved tight and put under vacuum.
- The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.

Advice
How we handle air conditioning in New Pound
Most air conditioning needs its own electrical supply from the consumer unit. Under Part P, a new circuit is notifiable unless a registered competent person does it, and as NICEIC approved contractors we can install and certify it as part of the job. Most enquiries from New Pound start with one hot room: a bedroom, a home office or a loft conversion. That is typically a single wall-mounted split, from £1,200 + VAT.
New circuits are done by our NICEIC approved electricians, so the electrical paperwork comes with the installation.
Villages like New Pound often have older houses and cottages, some of them listed. That matters, because a listed home needs consent and permitted development rules do not apply to it.
Whatever the visit, you get a written record: commissioning details and F-Gas records for a new system, a note of the fault and the fix for a repair, or a service record. Keep it with the system’s paperwork so it’s to hand next time.

Safe owner checks
Leave the units and pipework where they are. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. Ask us to quote for a move instead.
Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. Under the F-gas rules, engineers need their own qualifications and the company must be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.
Common problems we fix in New Pound
Commercial spaces gain heat from people, equipment, lighting and glazing. Keeping staff and customers comfortable is typically what prompts the call, and some rooms need cooling for the equipment as much as the people.
Look out for any of the following:
- A study or office that overheats during the day
- A portable unit with a hose out of the window
- A room that’s unbearable on warm days
About 1.9 miles west stands Old Soar Manor. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one.
Questions to ask before you book
- How VAT is shown, and which rate applies
- If the quote is based on a survey, photos or a diagnosis
- Whether they hold F-Gas company certification, not just individual qualifications
FAQs for New Pound
Is New Pound in your area for air conditioning?
Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and New Pound is part of that. Tell us a little about the job and we will take it from there.
What’s the best way to get a price for air conditioning in New Pound?
Use the quote form, or email, with a description of the job. Simple jobs can be priced from photos; otherwise we arrange a site survey and then give you a fixed-price quote.
Will I get records for the system?
Yes. Every visit is written up, including F-Gas records for any refrigerant work. File them with the system’s paperwork.
How long does it take to fit air conditioning?
It takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems. We confirm the time when we quote so there are no surprises.
Can I use air conditioning to heat a room?
Most of the time, yes: modern splits are normally heat pumps, so they can heat a room in winter. The Energy Saving Trust points out that an air-to-air heat pump is often just called air conditioning. Some cooling-only models exist, so we confirm it for the model on your quote.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes, day and night. Call the emergency line and tell us the make, the symptoms and any error code, and we will advise on what to do next.

When it’s something else
Air conditioning cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It doesn’t solve:
- An installation that needs consent nobody has given yet
- Central heating repairs
- Damp from leaks or a lack of ventilation
If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or use the quote form and we will say what we think.

Homes in New Pound and air conditioning
About 58% of homes in the New Pound area have been built since 2000, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax records, and Census 2021 figures found about 73% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Newer homes usually have cavity walls and loft space that make pipe runs easier, though some estates have planning conditions or covenants worth checking. With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it. There are 3 conservation areas within a mile of the centre of New Pound. That matters for air conditioning: permitted development does not apply within the grounds of a listed building, in a conservation area the outdoor unit can’t go on a wall or roof facing a road, and a unit used only for cooling is not covered at all, so we check with the planning team at Tonbridge and Malling council, which usually handles New Pound where necessary.
