Friday Street air conditioning
Our engineers work in Friday Street on supply, installation and commissioning of air conditioning for homes and businesses, from one room to a whole building. Diagnosis first, a fixed price and proper paperwork when we finish.
- A business premises that overheats in summer
- Rooms that get too hot to sleep or work in
- Portable units that are noisy and barely cope
Why deal with it now?
A system that’s the wrong size never works well. Too small, and it runs flat out without catching up; an oversized one cycles on and off and wastes energy. Getting the sizing right at the survey stage avoids both problems. Small faults tend to grow, so it’s worth dealing with them early.
Homes, offices, shops and public buildings are all priced the same way: the equipment, the access, the work involved and the time it takes. Call for a fixed-price quote and we’ll go through it with you.

How we handle air conditioning in Friday Street
A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, two rooms on a multi-split £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT. Those ranges include supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation, with commercial and VRF systems priced after a survey. For air conditioning in Friday Street, you get one team and one number from survey to sign-off, wherever you are in Surrey.
The electrics are part of the job: a dedicated circuit where the unit needs one, certified under NICEIC, so there’s no separate electrician or building control visit to arrange.
In a village like Friday Street, many homes are older, and some are listed. That matters, because a listed home needs consent and permitted development rules do not apply to it, and the outdoor unit position is chosen to suit the building.
For a fault on a system that may still be under warranty, send us the make, model and installation date. We will tell you how the manufacturer’s warranty is likely to apply before anything chargeable is done.

How we price air conditioning
Our prices page gives typical ranges, and your quote is built on your job. What we look at:
- The type of system, from a single split to a larger system
- Access, including height, roofs and ladders
- How many units are involved
The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, the access and the parts and time the job needs. We give you a fixed price before work begins, so you know where you stand.
Before you get in touch
To speed up the quote, send us:
- The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
- The remote or wall controller showing any error
- The fuse board and where it is in the property
Want a quote for air conditioning? Please ring us on 07833 053749 or send an email with a few details about the property. We will explain what we’d recommend and why, then send a fixed-price quote before anything is booked.
Honest limits
We’d rather tell you now than sell you work that won’t help, so these are the things it will not cover:
- Damp or condensation caused by leaks or poor ventilation in the building (that needs the cause fixing)
- A building fabric problem such as single glazing or no loft insulation
- Central heating repairs
If you are not sure, just call us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier and we will give you a straight answer.
Parts of the system we cover

How the visit works
The visit has three parts, a bit like a doctor’s appointment: diagnose, treat and sign off. First comes a careful look at the system or the space, then we do the work, and finally everything is tested, recorded and explained. The middle part takes longest, and that takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access. A note on how to find the property and where to park makes a visit to Friday Street easier.
- We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from pictures and details for simple jobs.
- Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
- On the day, we fit the indoor and outdoor units and run the pipework, cable and condensate drain.
- The electrical supply is connected, and the refrigerant circuit is pressure tested and evacuated.
- We commission the system, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty details.
Before we arrive
- Have the make and model of any existing unit to hand
- Give us access to the outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits
- Make sure someone can let us in at the agreed time
Ask for a quote
Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Tell us the address and what you need, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Air conditioning in Friday Street: the local picture
About 40% of homes in the Friday Street area were built before 1919, according to Valuation Office Agency council tax records, and the last census (2021) found about 76% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Older properties often mean solid walls and period details, so pipe runs are planned to stay neat and out of sight. With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it.
With historic houses such as Polesden Lacey about 4.2 miles north, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules. Homes near Church of St James are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.

Friday Street questions
Do I need planning permission for air conditioning in Friday Street?
That depends on the building and where the outdoor unit goes. There’s a conservation area, the Friday Street Conservation Area, close to central Friday Street. A system that heats as well as cools may not need an application on a house, provided it stays within the permitted development limits. Cooling-only units get no such allowance, and listed buildings and road-facing positions in conservation areas need more care. We speak to Mole Valley council, which is normally the planning authority for Friday Street when it matters.
Do you cover Friday Street for air conditioning?
We do: Friday Street falls inside our working area. To start, phone 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form with a few photos.
Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?
Usually, yes. The fuse board is checked on the survey, and any electrical work goes on the quote, and our NICEIC approval covers the installation and certificate.
How long does it take to fit air conditioning?
Most single-room systems take a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer, and we tell you how long on the quote.
What accreditations do you have?
As the law requires for refrigerant work, we’re an F-Gas certified company. We are also NICEIC approved, MCS certified for heat pumps and Checkatrade members.
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Yes. If something urgent happens, like water coming from a unit or a critical room overheating, call our 24/7 line and we will agree what happens next.
What does F-Gas certified mean?
The law says any company working on equipment containing F gas has to be certified, and each engineer needs the right qualifications too. It means the refrigerant in your system is handled legally.
A customer’s words
“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
