Air conditioning servicing near Cyprus

Cyprus: your questions answered

Can I get a fixed-price quote for air conditioning servicing in Cyprus?

Start with a short message: the address, what you need and a picture or two. Simple jobs can be priced from photos; otherwise we arrange a site survey and then give you a fixed-price quote.

How often should air conditioning in Cyprus be serviced?

Typically once a year for homes, more often for busy business systems. Some manufacturers’ warranty terms ask for regular servicing, so it’s worth keeping the records.

How long does the work take?

We’ll confirm the time with your quote. Most of the time, it takes an hour or so for a single wall-mounted unit, longer for a multi-split system.

Do you protect the property while you work?

We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and the area is kept tidy throughout. Before we leave, we clear up and run through the work with you.

Will you work on another installer’s system?

Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. Any work is priced before it goes ahead.

Which accreditations do you hold?

We hold F-Gas company certification, which the law requires for any business working on refrigerant. NICEIC approval, MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership sit alongside it.

Which manufacturers do you install and repair?

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and tell you why.

Air conditioning servicing in Cyprus

We’re asked to service systems for many different reasons: smells at start-up, a unit that struggles on hot days, drips from the indoor unit, or a service that’s overdue. Whatever the reason, the visit follows the same thorough checks. Typical jobs include humming, rattling or squealing from the system and no service record for the last year or more, on multi-split systems, wall-mounted split systems and ceiling cassettes.

In Cyprus, a business system may need a leak check by law as well as a service, depending on its refrigerant charge. We record the checks and tell you when the next one is due.

AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company and NICEIC approved for electrical work, MCS certified for heat pumps and a Checkatrade member. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

Air conditioning servicing in Cyprus: the local picture

Historic England lists about 3 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Cyprus, including Gallions Hotel (grade II*). Swapping an outdoor unit on a listed building or in a conservation area may need consent, so we will flag it if a replacement is needed. VOA council tax data show about 42% of homes across Cyprus and its surrounding area were built in 2000 or later, and about 56% of households live in flats, according to Census 2021 figures. If you live in a flat, mention any roof hatch, balcony or managing agent we’ll need to get to the outdoor unit. London outdoor units collect city dust and grime, so the outdoor coil gets particular attention on a service.

A service once a year suits most home systems, and some business systems need more.

Cyprus is about 2 miles east of Canning Town, in Greater London. Cyprus gets the same approach as every job we take on: diagnosis first, a fixed price and proper paperwork when we’ve finished. Not far from Cyprus, a recent job of ours was on Greenwich High Road, Greenwich (SE10), about 3 miles south-west: installing a Mitsubishi Electric wall-mounted unit in the retail area and a second unit in the stockroom and office.

What we’re called out for in Cyprus

A slow leak can go unnoticed for a long time. The system just cools or heats a little less well each year, until it cannot keep up on the hottest or coldest days.

If any of these sounds familiar, it’s worth a diagnosis:

  • Air conditioning that isn’t cooling as well as it did
  • Ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit
  • F-gas leak checks falling due

Schools such as Winsor Primary School can book servicing for half term or the summer break, when rooms are empty.

What to look for in a quote

  • What the manufacturer’s warranty covers and for how long
  • How VAT is shown, and which rate applies
  • Who does the electrical work, and whether they can certify it

Questions to ask before you book

The process

If the system has to be off for part of the visit, we tell you before any work starts so it doesn’t catch you out. For businesses, we can normally work room by room or zone by zone. On site, it takes a short visit for one split system, longer for multi-split, ducted or commercial plant. If your building in Cyprus has a managing agent, a concierge or sign-in rules, mention them when you book.

  1. We ask about the system: the make, the number of indoor units and any problems you’ve noticed.
  2. On arrival, a quick performance check shows how well it’s working before the clean.
  3. We clean the filters and coils and make sure the condensate drains away.
  4. Next come the terminals, the controller and the refrigerant side, with a leak check if the system’s size makes one a legal duty.
  5. A service record follows, with any faults and the options for fixing them.

How to prepare

  • Clear access to the fuse board
  • Mention any roof access, ladders or high-level work
  • Move furniture away from the wall where we will be working

Advice

For landlords and property managers

For anyone managing more than one building, we can quote and plan the work across all of them. Every address has its own paperwork, so each one has its own history.

Bigger systems bring extra duties: systems with an effective rated output over 12 kW need a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor at least every 5 years. We arrange the inspection, get the system ready and put right anything it picks up.

How the job changes from property to property

Maintenance contracts

With a contract, the number of visits, the scope and the cost are agreed in writing, fixed with your quote. It works for one unit at home or many across a site.

Wall-mounted, ducted and cassette units

In most homes, the indoor units are wall-mounted. They open up for the filters, coil and fan to be cleaned and the drain is cleared at the same visit.

From one of our customers

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
