About air conditioning in WC2N
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi are among the brands we fit. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons for it, along with the manufacturer’s warranty terms on your quote. Typical jobs include a loft conversion that’s too warm to use and expensive direct electric heating, across ceiling cassettes, VRF systems and air-to-air heat pumps.
The visit has three parts, a bit like a doctor’s appointment: diagnose, treat and sign off. First we check the system or the space against the plan, then we do the work, and finally we test, record and explain. Most of the time goes on the middle part, and that takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system.
- Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
- Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
- Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where necessary.
- Checks: a pressure test for leaks, then a vacuum to clear moisture.
- The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.
How we quote
Whatever the property, the quote works the same way: what’s needed, how we reach it, the parts and the labour. Ask for a fixed-price quote and we will explain each part.

Around South Bank
Around South Bank, our work takes us to homes and businesses near The BFI Reuben Library, St John's Church and St Andrew's and St John's Church of England Primary School. You will also find London Nautical School (less than half a mile north-east), Oasis Academy Johanna (under half a mile south-east), Jubilee Gardens (under half a mile west) and The Hole In The Wall pub (less than half a mile east). There’s a railway station in South Bank itself: London Waterloo station. Other landmarks nearby include Florence Nightingale Museum (less than half a mile south) and Royal Waterloo Hospital for Children and Women (under half a mile north-east). The countryside around South Bank includes Barnsbury Wood and St. James's Park Lake.
Air conditioning across WC2N
Our air conditioning work across WC2N takes in places such as South Bank and Waterloo and the smaller places around them. We cover every place we list for WC2N, 2 in all.
Our area stretches from Greater London through Surrey, Kent and Sussex to Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, and WC2N sits within it. You reach the same people wherever you are in it.
South Bank: Living close to St John's Church? Some older properties in parts like that are protected, and the survey finds out whether yours is. If you commute from London Waterloo station and work from home on other days, one wall-mounted unit in the home office is often all that is needed.
What we are called out for in WC2N
In shops, offices and restaurants, the heat comes from customers, staff, equipment and lighting as well as the sun. Keeping staff and customers comfortable is usually what prompts the call, along with keeping equipment rooms at a steady temperature.
These are the situations we see most often:
- Commercial rooms that are too warm for staff
- An old system that needs replacing
- Fans and portables that do not keep up
- Working from home in a room that gets too warm
Managing agents and facilities teams in WC2N
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Every visit is written up, with F-Gas records wherever refrigerant work is involved, so you can show what was done and when.
If you look after several properties, we can quote and plan the work across all of them. Each property gets its own records, so each one has its own history.
Honest limits
Not every problem is solved by air conditioning, and we’ll tell you before any work starts. It will not put right:
- Heat loss through very poor insulation (a system will heat the room, but insulation is a separate job)
- Work that needs permission from a landlord or the council
- A ventilation problem rather than a temperature problem
Why act early?
The best time to plan air conditioning is before the hot weather, not during it. A rushed choice is often the wrong size or in the wrong place, which is costly to undo. Booking the survey early gives you time to weigh up the options.
Questions to ask before booking
- How VAT is shown, and which rate applies
- If the figure could change on the day
- What paperwork you will receive afterwards
- Why the equipment they’re quoting suits the job
WC2N questions
Which brands do you work with?
We install and work on the leading makes, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we will take it from there.
What accreditations do you have?
F-Gas certified, NICEIC approved and MCS certified for heat pumps, and we’re Checkatrade members. Engineers who handle refrigerant hold their own F-gas qualifications as well.
Is planning permission needed for the outdoor unit?
Sometimes. Heat pumps and cooling-only units are treated differently, and so are flats, listed buildings and conservation areas. We flag anything that may need permission when we survey, and the council has the final say. This is general information, not legal advice.
Do you protect the property while you work?
We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and the area is kept tidy throughout. At the end, we clear up and show you what we’ve done.
Why use an F-Gas certified company?
F-Gas certification shows a company is approved to work on equipment containing fluorinated gases, such as the refrigerant in air conditioning and heat pumps. That isn’t optional: it’s required by law, and AirCon Doctor is certified.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.
Do you work on systems someone else installed?
Yes. Systems fitted by other companies are fine from all the leading brands. Send us the make and model, and any records you have.
