About air conditioning in ME14
Most modern split systems run as heat pumps, so they can heat as well as cool. The Energy Saving Trust notes that air-to-air heat pumps are sometimes referred to as air conditioning, so a well-chosen unit can be useful in winter as well as summer. The work covers ceiling cassettes, multi-split systems and wall-mounted split systems, and the jobs we see most are a loft conversion that’s too warm to use and not knowing which system, size or brand to choose.
If the system has to be off for part of the visit, we tell you before we start so it does not catch you out. For businesses, we can usually work room by room or zone by zone. The work takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access.
- We survey the property, or work from your photos for a simple job.
- Output, positions and price are settled before anything is booked.
- On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
- Connections are made, checked for leaks and pulled down to a vacuum.
- The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.
What you will pay
Several rooms, units or sites on one quote often makes better use of the time. Mention every unit or room you need covered, and you will get one fixed price.

Air conditioning around ME14
From Maidstone, Foley Park and Bearsted outwards, ME14 has every kind of home. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
We are based in East Grinstead and work across London and the South East, ME14 included. Each job starts with a survey and a fixed-price quote.
Foley Park: Around Church of St Luke, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install. Close to Maidstone East station? A small study or box room used for work can usually be cooled with a single indoor unit.
What the work involves, system by system
Ducted systems
With a ducted system, the indoor unit sits out of sight above the ceiling, and all you see is a discreet grille. It suits rooms where a visible unit wouldn’t work.
Wall-mounted split systems
For one room, a wall-mounted split is often the simplest answer. One unit inside, one outside, connected by pipework, a cable and a drain, routed as agreed on the survey.
Leave it or put it right?
Fans and portables move warm air around rather than removing it. A properly installed split moves heat outside, keeps the noisy parts out of the room and most of the time heats too, so it earns its keep all year.

- Whether they hold F-Gas company certification, not just individual qualifications

What air conditioning cannot fix
We will always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what air conditioning won’t do:
- Heat loss through very poor insulation (a system will heat the room, but insulation is a separate job)
- Building damp that has a structural cause
- A room that can’t take an outdoor unit or pipe route without the landlord’s, management company’s or council’s consent (that consent comes first)
Owner checks or an engineer?
Keep a note of anything odd: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.
Some faults have simple causes you can check first: is the system in the right mode, is the set temperature sensible, are the remote’s batteries working and has the breaker tripped. If a breaker trips again after you reset it, leave it off and ring 07833 053749 or use the quote form.
Your questions about air conditioning in ME14
What does F-Gas certified mean?
Certification shows a business is approved to work on systems that hold F gas refrigerant. That isn’t optional: it’s required by law, and we hold it.
Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?
In most cases, yes: a dedicated circuit is needed. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and we’re NICEIC approved, so we can install and certify it.
Can landlords and managing agents book you?
Yes. From one rented home to commercial buildings, we work the same way: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.
Do you provide F-Gas records?
Yes, always. New installations come with commissioning details, F-Gas records and warranty information, and repairs and services get a record of the work.
When will I hear back?
On the same working day you contact us. Then we agree a date that works for you, and you get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
Can I do any of the installation myself?
No, not the refrigerant side. Under the F-gas rules, it must be done by qualified engineers from a certified company, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.
Is air conditioning possible in a flat?
It depends on the building and the lease. Balconies, flat roofs and rear walls can all work, subject to consent and the survey looks at every option. This is general information, not legal advice.
