Our air conditioning service in CT6
A new system normally needs a dedicated circuit from the fuse board. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and as NICEIC approved contractors we can install and certify it as part of the job. The work covers wall-mounted split systems, ceiling cassettes and air-to-air heat pumps, and people most often call us about fans and portables that don’t keep up and a loft room or top floor that bakes in summer.
We book the visit for a day and time that suit you, and we keep you posted if anything changes. When we arrive, we check the job against the survey or the pictures you sent. Anything unexpected is raised with you before we go further. After that, it takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system.
- We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from photos and details for simple jobs.
- Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
- The units go up and the pipework, cable and condensate drain are run neatly between them.
- Once the electrics are connected, the pipework is tested for leaks and put under vacuum before any refrigerant flows.
- The system is commissioned and checked in every mode, and we hand over the controls, F-Gas records and warranty information.
How we quote
Our prices page shows typical ranges, but each job is priced on what it involves. For a fixed-price quote, phone us on 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk, and we’ll talk you through it.
What you get with us
- Enquiries answered the same working day
- Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba and more
- Manufacturer’s warranty terms explained on your quote
- A site survey and a fixed-price quote
Getting a quote
Some jobs can be priced from photos, while others need a survey. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.
What’s near Herne Bay
We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around Curtis Wood, Herne Bay Junior School and Herne Bay High School and the streets around them. Other local landmarks include Queen's Head Public House (less than half a mile north-west) and Christ Church (under half a mile north-west). The closest station to Herne Bay is Herne Bay station, roughly 0.7 miles west of the centre. Nearby you will also find Tankerton Castle (4.3 miles west) and Whitstable and Tankerton Hospital (3.6 miles west). Not far away are West Blean and Thornden Woods.
Air conditioning around CT6
In CT6, as across England, the same permitted development rules apply: cooling-only units aren’t covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road.
We reply to enquiries from CT6 the same working day, with a 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns. Near the coast in CT6, outdoor units last longer with shelter from sea wind and a yearly service.
Herne Bay: If you work from home near Herne Bay station, a home office that overheats is one of the easiest rooms to cool. Homes near Christ Church are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.
After we’ve gone
Looking after the system is mostly common sense. Our tips:
- Use moderate settings for comfort and economy
- Keep the room closed while it runs
- Keep the indoor unit’s filters clean
- Leave space around the outdoor unit
The handover includes the records you need: F-Gas records, commissioning details and the manufacturer’s warranty terms. Keep them with the manual as they’re needed for servicing and any warranty question.
Keep the outdoor unit clear. Leaves, plants, bins and stored items around it restrict the airflow, and the system has to work harder as a result.
Managing agents and facilities teams in CT6
From a single flat to a whole estate, the approach is the same: diagnosis, a fixed price, access agreed with the people on site and paperwork at the end.
Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works and we’ll come back with a fixed-price quote.
Why act early?
Putting up with another summer of portable units and fans rarely makes sense. A fixed system removes the heat to the outside, runs more quietly in the room and can typically heat as well, so it works for you in winter as well.
What your quote should include
- Proof of F-Gas company certification
- Whether testing, commissioning and paperwork are included
- Whether the price is fixed or an estimate
- What records you get at the end
What air conditioning can’t fix
Some problems need a different service or another trade:
- A room that can’t take an outdoor unit or pipe route without the landlord’s, management company’s or council’s consent (that consent comes first)
- A lack of fresh air (most split systems recirculate room air rather than bringing fresh air in, which is a job for ventilation)
- Central heating repairs
Common questions in CT6
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
Typically, yes. The fuse board is checked on the survey, and any electrical work goes on the quote and we install and certify the circuit as NICEIC approved contractors.
Which brands do you work with?
The main ones, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. For a new system, we suggest the make and model that suit the property and explain why.
Will you work on another installer’s system?
Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. You get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
What accreditations do you have?
F-Gas company certification, NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps, plus Checkatrade membership. Our engineers also hold the individual F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.
Do I need planning permission?
Not always. Permitted development can cover a heat pump on a house, including an air-to-air system that heats as well as cools since 2025, provided the conditions are met. Cooling-only units, listed buildings, flats and road-facing spots in conservation areas are where it usually comes up, and we tell you at the survey. This is general information, not legal advice.
Is the equipment covered by a warranty?
The manufacturer provides it, on its own terms. Some terms depend on regular servicing by a qualified engineer so it’s worth keeping the service records.
Do you work in CT6?
Yes. We work across Greater London, Surrey, Kent, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, CT6 included.
