Our air conditioning service in BN12
Most air conditioning needs its own electrical supply from the consumer unit. Under Part P, a new circuit is notifiable unless a registered competent person does it, and as NICEIC approved contractors we can install and certify it as part of the job. Common call-outs are for a loft conversion that’s too warm to use and a room that’s unbearable on warm days, on wall-mounted split systems, ducted systems and VRF systems.
Anything involving refrigerant is handled by F-Gas qualified engineers, as the law requires, while the electrical side is covered by our NICEIC approval. On the day, both are in the same hands. On site, it takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems.
- We start by looking at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
- Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
- The indoor unit is fixed in place, the outside unit positioned, and the connecting runs put in tidily.
- Once the electrics are connected, the pipework is tested for leaks and put under vacuum before any refrigerant flows.
- Last comes the run-up: every mode checked, the controls explained and the paperwork left with you.
How we quote
The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, how easy the units are to reach and the parts and time the job needs. We give you a fixed price before work begins, so there are no surprises.

Getting a price
Every quote starts with a look at the job, from a site survey or, where the job is straightforward, from photos and measurements. After that, we send a fixed price before any work starts.
What’s near Ferring
We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around Chatsmore Catholic High School, St Andrew's Church and Ferring CofE Primary School, among other places. Ferring’s nearest station is Goring-By-Sea station, roughly 0.9 miles north-east. Nearby you’ll also find Rustington Museum (2.4 miles west) and Old Castle (2.6 miles north-east). Open spaces near Ferring include Highdown Hill.
Air conditioning around BN12
Planning rules are the same across England, BN12 included: an air-to-air system that heats as well as cools can be permitted development on a house, but cooling-only units, listed buildings and outdoor units facing a road in conservation areas need more care.
BN12 is within the area we cover from our base in East Grinstead. Each job starts with a survey and a fixed-price quote. BN12 includes coastal places, where salt in the air speeds up corrosion of outdoor coils and fixings. We choose positions and fixings with that in mind.
Ferring: Ecclesden Manor (roughly 1.6 miles north-west) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on. Living close to St Andrew's Church? Some older properties in parts like that are protected, and the survey finds out whether yours is.
Managing agents and facilities teams in BN12
If you look after several properties, we can plan visits across the portfolio and price them together. Every address has its own paperwork, so each one has its own history.
Running several properties is easier with one contractor. Our area covers Greater London and the South East, so a run of properties can go into one programme and kept on a regular cycle.
Why deal with it now?
Where the outdoor unit goes matters to you and to the neighbours. A good position keeps noise down and leaves room for servicing, and it can make a difference to planning. It’s agreed on the survey, not on the day.
Questions to ask before booking
- Who does the electrical work, and whether they can certify it
- Whether extra work needs your approval first
- Whether anyone has checked the property or the system first
- What the manufacturer’s warranty covers and for how long
Signs you need air conditioning
Poor sleep is one of the most common reasons homeowners ask about air conditioning. Once a bedroom has soaked up heat during the day, opening a window may not bring the temperature down far enough, particularly when there’s no breeze.
Look out for any of the following:
- A loft room or top floor that bakes in summer
- Uncertainty over the right type and size of system
- Bedrooms and offices that overheat in summer
- Rooms heated by plug-in heaters
What air conditioning can’t fix
We won’t sell you work that doesn’t address the problem, so here are the limits:
- Damp from leaks or a lack of ventilation
- Work that needs permission from a landlord or the council
- Central heating repairs
Your questions about air conditioning in BN12
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
In most cases. We check your consumer unit on the survey and include any electrical work on the quote and we install and certify the circuit as NICEIC approved contractors.
What accreditations do you have?
As the law requires for refrigerant work, we’re an F-Gas certified company. NICEIC approval, MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership sit alongside it.
Do I need planning permission?
That depends on what’s being fitted and where. Heat pumps on houses in England can be permitted development when they meet set conditions, including the MCS 020(a) noise check, but a cooling-only unit isn’t covered, so check with the council. Flats, listed buildings and conservation areas have tighter rules. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can I use air conditioning to heat a room?
In most cases, yes: modern splits are normally heat pumps, so they heat as well as cool. The Energy Saving Trust notes that air-to-air heat pumps are sometimes referred to as air conditioning. We confirm the heating function of the model we quote.
How do you keep the place clean during the work?
We start with protection: sheets over the floor and nearby furniture. Holes and fixings are agreed with you, and we clean up afterwards when we finish.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used and we will propose a schedule and quote for it. Leak checks required by the F-gas rules can be built in for larger systems.
What does F-Gas certified mean?
Companies working on equipment that contains F gas must be certified by an approved body, and the engineers need their own qualifications. It’s how you know the refrigerant is being handled legally and safely.
