Air source heat pumps near Temple Valley

Air source heat pumps in Temple Valley

As an MCS certified installer, we fit air source heat pumps for homes in Temple Valley and the rest of Hampshire. There are two kinds: air-to-water, which heats radiators or underfloor heating and your hot water, and air-to-air, which warms rooms through indoor units and can also cool. We will explain which type fits your home and why. We are often asked to deal with replacing a combi boiler with a heat pump and checking emitters for a heat pump, on homes heated by oil, LPG or gas, underfloor heating and air-to-water heat pumps.

Homes around Temple Valley usually have room outside for a heat pump, so the design focuses on heat loss and radiators.

For a fault on a system that may still be under warranty, send us the make, model and installation date. We will tell you how the manufacturer’s warranty is likely to apply before anything chargeable is done.

Heat loss surveys

We look at walls, windows, floors, roofs and ventilation, and the size of each room.

What owners can safely do

Leave the units and pipework where they are. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do, if the manual says so. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.

Why act early in Temple Valley

For eligible off-gas homes on oil or LPG, an extra £1,500 is on offer until March 2027. If that applies to you, it’s worth asking about sooner rather than later. Small faults tend to grow, so it’s worth dealing with them early.

Leaving a fault or an overdue service rarely makes the work cheaper. Small problems, from blocked filters to slow leaks, tend to get worse, and a struggling system uses more electricity to do less. If you are unsure, call 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier for straight advice and a fixed price.

What a heat pump looks like in Temple Valley

About 58 miles out from central London, Temple Valley is part of the South East area we work across.

Sizing comes from the heat each room loses on a cold day, not from the size of the old boiler. If your home is listed, like Hinton Ampner House about 4.2 miles east, listed building consent comes before any heat pump work.

How it works

Think of the visit in three stages: look, put right and sign off. First comes a careful look at the system or the space, then we do the work, and finally everything is tested, recorded and explained. Most of the time goes on the middle part, and that takes several days for an air-to-water system with a new cylinder, less for an air-to-air system. Rural lanes and tight entrances are worth mentioning before a visit to Temple Valley.

  1. It begins with your house and the heating it relies on now.
  2. A heat loss survey is carried out, room by room.
  3. We design the system, check the radiators and cylinder and look at the outdoor unit position.
  4. A fixed-price quote explains the cost, the grant position and the VAT.
  5. Then it’s fitted, commissioned and registered with MCS.

Preparing for the visit

  • Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
  • Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
  • Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board

Quoting starts with a diagnosis, from a site survey or, where the job is straightforward, from photos and measurements. After that, we send a fixed price so you know the cost before we begin.
