Air source heat pumps across Lyne

About our air source heat pumps in Lyne

Until 31 March 2027, a heat pump installed in residential accommodation carries 0% VAT, with 5% from 1 April 2027. That follows HMRC Notice 708/6, and it does not apply to businesses. For air-to-air systems, we confirm the VAT on your quote. This is general information, not tax advice. We’re often asked to deal with plans to switch to electric heating with a heat pump and ageing boilers that will need replacing, across underfloor heating, radiator systems and air-to-water heat pumps.

If your home in or near Lyne is heated by oil, LPG or electric heaters with no mains gas, an extra £1,500 is available through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme until March 2027.

The records are your system’s health record: a dated account of the work and the readings we took. It makes the next visit quicker and any warranty question simpler, so keep it safe.

Leave it or put it right?

Getting the sizing wrong causes problems that are hard to fix later. A room-by-room survey gets it right first time. Waiting rarely makes an air conditioning problem smaller.

No two properties are the same, so we price each one individually. The equipment, how we reach it, the route between units and the work needed all make a difference.

Why book with us

  • Clear warranty information from the manufacturer
  • An F-Gas certified company, as the law requires
  • 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns
  • Diagnosis first, then a fixed price

See our cost guide and how to check a contractor.

How the visit works

Every visit follows the same order: agree the plan on site, put the dust sheets down, carry out the job, test what we have done and talk you through it. On site, the work takes a few days for most air-to-water installations, with air-to-air systems often quicker. Somewhere like Lyne, it helps to know about lanes, gates and where to park.

  1. Step one is understanding the house, how it’s heated today and what you’d like to change.
  2. On the visit we calculate what every room loses on a cold day, then check the radiators, room for a cylinder and outdoor unit options.
  3. We send a fixed-price quote that shows the equipment, the grant position and the VAT.
  4. Installation covers the outdoor unit, the indoor connections and the controls.
  5. Once it’s running correctly, the MCS certificate is issued and we show you the settings.

Before we arrive

  • Dig out any previous service or F-Gas records
  • Let us know if the units are on a roof, a high wall or in a locked area
  • Move furniture away from the wall where we will be working

Advice

Pricing air source heat pumps in Lyne

Typical ranges are on our prices page, but every job is priced on its own. The quote depends on:

  • The equipment or parts the job needs
  • The distance and route between the indoor and outdoor units
  • What state the existing equipment is in

A single unit or a whole estate, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the equipment. The price is fixed before work begins, and the quote sets out the VAT.

What we need to know

A few details help us quote accurately. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • The postcode and whether it’s a home, flat or business
  • A short video of any fault, such as a noise or a flashing light
  • Your consumer unit or fuse board

To help us quote: the address and the type of property, a few photos, the make and model of any existing system and anything you’ve noticed, such as an error code or a noise. Once you have those, phone us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.

Heat pumps in Lyne: local notes

Valuation Office Agency council tax records show about 30% of homes in the Lyne area were built in 2000 or later. Better insulated, newer homes are often a good match for a heat pump.

Older homes near Church of Holy Trinity may need extra checks for planning and heat loss before a heat pump is designed. Botleys Mansion lies about 1 mile south. Owners of listed homes need consent before a heat pump is fitted, so it’s one of our first questions.

Lyne is about 3 miles south of Egham, in Surrey. Across the KT16 area, we can help with air source heat pumps. Our Surrey coverage runs to 395 places, Lyne among them. Guildford is in our area too, around 10 miles away.

The closest recent job we can point to from Lyne was on Church Street, Staines-upon-Thames (TW18), about 3 miles north-east: installing two LG wall-mounted units in the main office area and a single unit in the client meeting room.

Jobs in KT16 are looked at, quoted and booked the same way as anywhere else. From Almners Road, Pantiles Close and Lyne Lane to the smaller roads in between, nowhere is left out. Close to Lyne, our area also takes in Chertsey (1 mile east), Trumps Green (2 miles west), Ottershaw (2 miles south), Stonehill (2 miles south-west) and Row Town (2 miles south-east). Larger places within reach include Guildford (10 miles south), Woking (5 miles south), Camberley (9 miles south-west) and Epsom (12 miles east).

Lyne: your questions answered

Do you cover smaller places like Lyne?

Yes. Lyne is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.

Can I fit a heat pump in Lyne without planning permission?

It depends on the property. The half-mile around the middle of Lyne holds about 5 listed buildings and structures. On a house, an air source heat pump can often go ahead under permitted development, with an outdoor unit of no more than 1.5 cubic metres and an installation that meets MCS 020(a), which includes a noise check. Those rights don’t reach the grounds of a listed building, and conservation areas rule out walls or roofs facing a road. If that might affect you, we ask Runnymede council, which is normally the planning authority for Lyne.

Which brands do you work with?

We work with the leading brands, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Send us the make and model if you have it.

Is there a Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant for air-to-air?

Sometimes, and the amount is £2,500 rather than £7,500. The system has to replace the fossil-fuel heating and heat the whole home, installed by an MCS certified installer.

When will I hear back?

You’ll hear from us the same working day. If it’s an emergency, ring the 24/7 line instead.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

Certification shows a business is approved to work on systems that hold F gas refrigerant. That isn’t optional: it’s required by law, and we hold it.

Can landlords and managing agents book you?

Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, we work the same way: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.

Before you call an engineer

Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.

There are a few things you can safely do yourself: keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter, check the settings and the remote, and follow the cleaning the manual describes. Anything inside the units, the electrics and the refrigerant is engineer’s work.

What a customer said

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
