FAQs for Dungate
Is Dungate within the area you cover?
We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. We are based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
Can I get the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant in Dungate?
Yes, the scheme covers homes in England, including Dungate, if they qualify. It gives £7,500 towards an air-to-water or ground source heat pump, or £2,500 towards an air-to-air heat pump that replaces the fossil-fuel heating and meets the whole home’s heating need. As an MCS certified installer, we apply for it on your behalf.
Do you work on systems someone else installed?
Yes. Systems fitted by other companies are fine from all the leading brands. Send us the make and model, and any records you have.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.
Which manufacturers do you install and repair?
We install and work on the leading makes, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we’ll take it from there.
Should I choose air-to-water or air-to-air?
Air-to-water suits homes with radiators and a cylinder; air-to-air suits rooms that need heating and cooling. The survey helps decide. Both are part of what we install.
Is there a survey before the work?
Yes. Photos often do the job for simple work, while larger systems and faults that need testing are seen on site.
About our air source heat pumps in Dungate
Air-to-water heat pumps heat your hot water through a cylinder. If you have a combi boiler and no cylinder, the survey looks at where one could go. With air-to-air, hot water has to come from something else. We are often asked to deal with questions about the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and comparing heat pump types, across underfloor heating, air-to-air heat pumps and homes heated by oil, LPG or gas.
If your home in or near Dungate is heated by oil, LPG or electric heaters with no mains gas, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme adds an extra £1,500 until March 2027 for an air source or ground source heat pump, on top of the £7,500.
The records are your system’s health record: what was fitted or found, what was done and when. It makes the next visit quicker and any warranty question simpler, so keep it safe.

The process
Testing is the last part of the visit wherever the system can be switched on. Then we show you what we’ve done and answer any questions, and anything that needs attention later is pointed out. The visit takes a few days for most air-to-water installations, with air-to-air systems often quicker. Somewhere like Dungate, it helps to know about lanes, gates and where to park.
- We find out about your home and the heating you have now.
- A heat loss survey is carried out, room by room.
- The design covers the heat pump, emitters, hot water and outdoor unit.
- A fixed-price quote explains the cost, the grant position and the VAT.
- Installation, commissioning and MCS registration complete the job.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process
- Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
- Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
How to get a quote
Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Multi-room systems, commercial buildings and anything with a long or hidden pipe route are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

What you can do yourself, and what needs us
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you cannot see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.
Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. Under the F-gas rules, engineers need their own qualifications and the company must be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.
Air source heat pumps around Dungate
The last census (2021) found about 81% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Houses usually have space for an outdoor unit and a hot water cylinder. Dungate House, listed at grade II, is one of roughly 3 protected buildings and structures in the half-mile around Dungate’s centre. Where a home is affected, the outdoor unit position is settled with the local planning authority (usually Swale council) before the heat pump design is finished.
Belmont House and Gardens, roughly 4.6 miles south-east, is a reminder to check your home’s listing status: permitted development does not cover listed buildings. Live in one of the older houses around Church of St Catherine? Expect the survey to look closely at heat loss and at the building’s planning status.

Fixed-price quotes for air source heat pumps in Dungate
Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. The main factors:
- Whether the existing supply is suitable
- Whether it’s a simple split or a larger system
- Whether it’s a one-off job or part of a maintenance contract
The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, how easy the units are to reach and what the work involves. We give you a fixed price before we start, so you know where you stand.
What we need to know
What to send for a quote:
- Your consumer unit or fuse board
- Any error code or flashing light on the display
- A close-up of the unit’s label showing the model number
To help us quote: where the property is and what kind of building it is, a few photos, the make and model of any existing system and anything you’ve noticed, such as an error code or a noise. Then give us a ring on 07833 053749 or send an email.
Rented and managed buildings
We regularly work with managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works and we will come back with a fixed-price quote.
The F-gas rules share responsibility for leak checking between the equipment’s operator and the service technicians. Where a building is let or managed, the lease or contract should make clear who looks after the system, and we can work for either side.
From one of our customers
“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
