About our commercial air conditioning in Guestling
Every commercial job is commercial systems priced after survey. The survey covers the space, its occupancy, its heat sources and its opening hours, and a fixed-price quote follows. That way the system fits the site and the price is clear before work starts. The work covers VRF systems, ceiling cassettes and multi-split systems, and the jobs we see most are buildings that can’t close for the work and ageing air conditioning that keeps breaking down.
If you run a village hall or similar building near Guestling, heating and cooling that warms up fast suits a space used on and off, and it can heat as well as cool.
We’re an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work, with MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership. Refrigerant work is done by engineers who hold the F-gas qualifications the law requires.

Questions from Guestling
Is the coast a problem for outdoor units in Guestling?
It can, as Guestling is within about 2 miles of the sea, where salt in the air is hard on coils and fixings. The outdoor unit position, its fixings and regular servicing all help near the sea.
Is planning permission needed for air conditioning in Guestling?
It comes down to the building and the spot chosen for the outdoor unit. A conservation area takes in the middle of Guestling. An air-to-air system used for heating as well as cooling can be permitted development on a house if it meets the conditions, but a cooling-only unit isn’t covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road. Where needed, we check with the planning department at Rother council, usually the authority for Guestling.
Do you protect the property while you work?
Protection goes down first: sheets over the floor and nearby furniture. Holes and fixings are agreed with you, and we clean up afterwards before we leave.
Do you look at the job first?
Yes, every time. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what’s needed, where things go and what access we need and the fixed price is built on it.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.
How long does a commercial installation take?
The work takes a few days for a small shop or office, longer for VRF across several floors. We confirm the timing after the survey, and you can give us a ring on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form to book it.
Which manufacturers do you install and repair?
We work with the leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we will take it from there.
What we do, step by step
We book the visit for a day and time that suit you, and we let you know if plans need to move. On arrival, the engineer compares the job with the survey, your pictures or the details you gave us. If something is different, we talk it through with you before carrying on. From there, the work takes from a couple of days for a few cassettes to a planned programme for a whole building. If a lane or gateway near Guestling is tight for a van, let us know and we’ll plan for it.
- We visit the site to look at the building, how it’s used and what the system needs to do.
- We send a fixed-price quote showing the system, the unit positions and how the work will be phased.
- Dates are set with you so trading, teaching or treatment carries on, using evenings, weekends or phases where it helps.
- We fit the units, run and test the pipework, connect the condensate and wire in the controls.
- The system is commissioned and you receive the F-gas records, handover notes and manufacturer paperwork.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about parking and loading
- Keep pets and children away from the work area
- Move furniture away from the wall where we’ll be working

Advice
What the work involves, system by system
Hotels and schools
Schools often need installs during the holidays and we plan the programme early.
Server and comms rooms
Adding a second unit gives resilience, and we can discuss how they share the load.
When it’s something else
It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:
- Carrying out the TM44 inspection itself, which needs an accredited energy assessor
- Building work beyond the installation itself
- Formal planning decisions, which rest with the council
If in doubt, phone 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form and we will say what we think before booking.
Where we work
- VRF systems
- Ducted systems
- Multi-split systems
- Server and comms room cooling

Safe owner checks
Leave the units and pipework where they are. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.
Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.
Business air conditioning in Guestling
Guestling lies within about 2 miles of the sea. Commercial condensers near the coast should be checked for corrosion on every maintenance visit. The FSA’s food hygiene register shows about 5 restaurants, cafés and canteens, about 4 schools and colleges and about 3 care, childcare and hospital premises within about 1.5 miles of central Guestling. Many of those sites need air conditioning that is sized for long hours and maintained on a schedule.
Before any plant goes outside a building like St Laurence's Church, its trustees may need planning or heritage advice, and we work with whoever gives it. For a surgery or clinic in the Conquest Hospital area, a planned maintenance contract keeps the system clean and its records up to date.
