About air conditioning in Windsor and Maidenhead
We approach an installation much as a doctor approaches a patient: the survey diagnoses what the rooms need, the installation is the treatment and commissioning is the sign-off. At sign-off, the system is tested in each mode, the controls are explained and the F-Gas records are left with you. We are often asked to deal with a study or office that overheats during the day and rooms under the roof that stay hot into the night, across wall-mounted split systems, ducted systems and multi-split systems.
Testing is the last part of the visit wherever the system can be switched on. Then we show you what we have done and answer any questions, and anything that needs attention later is pointed out. All told, the work takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer.
- You send pictures, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- Each room is sized and the unit positions agreed, then you get a fixed-price quote.
- We protect the area, then fit both halves of the system.
- We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
- We commission, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas and warranty paperwork.

Getting a price
Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Add the address and what you’d like done, and simple jobs can often be priced without a visit.

Maidenhead: If you work from home near Maidenhead station, a home office that overheats is one of the easiest rooms to cool. Around All Saints' Church, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install.
Honest limits
Before booking, it helps to know what’s not included:
- Problems with a gas boiler or the radiators
- A room that cannot take an outdoor unit or pipe route without the landlord’s, management company’s or council’s consent (that consent comes first)
- A lack of fresh air (most split systems recirculate room air rather than bringing fresh air in, which is a job for ventilation)
Common problems we fix in Windsor and Maidenhead
In shops, offices and restaurants, the heat comes from customers, staff, equipment and lighting as well as the sun. Keeping staff and customers comfortable is typically what prompts the call, and some rooms need cooling for the equipment as much as the people.
It’s time to call us if you are dealing with:
- Portable units that are noisy and barely cope
- Commercial rooms that are too warm for staff
- Uncertainty over the right type and size of system
- Old electric heaters you’d like to replace with something more efficient
Pricing air conditioning in Windsor and Maidenhead
Typical ranges are on our prices page, and your quote is built on your job. The quote depends on:
- The electrical supply and whether a new circuit is needed
- A single visit or a regular plan
- How easy the units are to reach
- The condition of any existing system
Leaving a fault or an overdue service rarely makes the work cheaper. Faults and wear in a system tend to grow, and a system working harder than it should costs more to run. If you are not sure what’s needed, ring 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form for straight advice and a fixed price.
Asking for a quote
There’s no need for technical detail. Just send:
- The remote or wall controller showing any error
- The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
- A photo of the consumer unit with the cover closed
- Any previous service or F-Gas records
If you need air conditioning in Windsor and Maidenhead, ring us on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form. Let us know the type of property and what you need, plus some pictures if they’re to hand. We reply the same working day.
Keeping the system healthy
Every system needs looking after, and most of it is easy. Our tips:
- Never run the system with the filters out
- Keep the room closed while it runs
- Avoid setting it far colder than you need
- Leave space around the outdoor unit
We clear up before we go: dust sheets lifted, offcuts and packaging cleared, and the holes for the pipework sealed. Outside, the pipework is neatly fixed and protected as agreed on the survey.
Report drips, noises or error codes early. Water from the indoor unit, a new rattle or a code on the display typically means something needs attention and catching it early keeps the repair small.
FAQs for Windsor and Maidenhead
Does servicing affect my warranty?
It can, for some brands. Read the manufacturer’s terms, or send us the make and model and we’ll explain them, and book the service at the interval they recommend.
Will I need planning permission?
Not necessarily. Permitted development can cover a heat pump on a house, including an air-to-air system that heats as well as cools since 2025, provided the conditions are met. Cooling-only units, listed buildings, flats and road-facing spots in conservation areas are where it usually comes up and the survey picks it up. This is general information, not legal advice.
Why use an F-Gas certified company?
For refrigerant work, both the engineer and the company need the right F-gas credentials. Ask to see proof before you book anyone, and we’re happy to show ours.
Where will you put the outdoor unit?
We agree it with you on the survey. It needs space around it to breathe and room for an engineer to service it, and a position facing a road can bring extra planning considerations. We’ll tell you what to check before we fit it.
Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?
Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We’ll work out which band applies to yours.
Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?
In most cases, yes: a dedicated circuit is needed. Under Part P, a new circuit has to be notified unless a registered competent person does it, and we are NICEIC approved, so we can install and certify it.
What warranty do I get?
The manufacturer’s warranty, on the manufacturer’s terms. Terms differ by brand, and we set them out on your quote.
