Air conditioning near Holyport

Air conditioning in Holyport, done properly

A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, while a two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT. Those ranges include supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation, and commercial VRF systems are priced after a survey. Modern air conditioning heats as well as cools: in heating mode they work as an air-to-air heat pump, so a system bought for summer earns its keep in winter too.

Around Holyport, many people choose a system that heats as well as cools, which suits rooms the main heating doesn’t reach well, such as a garden room or loft.

The records are your system’s health record: a dated account of the work and the readings we took. It makes the next visit quicker and any warranty question simpler and it’s worth keeping safe.

After we’ve gone

Looking after the system is mostly common sense. Our tips:

  • Have the system serviced once a year
  • Shut doors and windows when it’s on
  • Keep the F-Gas records, commissioning details and warranty information together

The handover includes the records you need: the commissioning details, the F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty information. File them together, because the manufacturer or a future engineer may ask to see them.

Have the system serviced once a year. A service cleans what you can’t reach and picks up faults before they stop the system and keeps the warranty paperwork right where servicing is a condition.

Why deal with it now?

Where the outdoor unit goes matters to you and to the neighbours. A good position keeps noise down and leaves room for servicing, and it can make a difference to planning. We agree it with you on the survey. For a village like Holyport, booking ahead lets us plan the trip properly.

Several rooms, units or sites on one quote can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every unit or room you need covered and we will price it together.

Air conditioning in Holyport: local notes

The 2021 Census found about 75% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. A side passage or back wall normally gives the outdoor unit a home, and more than one bedroom can be cooled through a multi-split.

About 2.2 miles east stands Dorney Court. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one. A loft bedroom or a glazed extension is often the room that prompts the first call.

Holyport is about 2 miles south of Maidenhead, in Windsor and Maidenhead. Holyport gets the same approach as every job we take on: a look at the job first, a fixed-price quote and written records at the end. Holyport is one of 57 towns, villages and districts in Windsor and Maidenhead we cover. Guildford, roughly 18 miles off, has its own page on this site.

Not far from Holyport, a recent job of ours was on Church Street, Staines-upon-Thames (TW18), about 10 miles south-east: installing two LG wall-mounted units in the main office area and a single unit in the client meeting room. More about it

How it works

Refrigerant work is done by qualified engineers working for an F-Gas certified company, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. On the day, both are in the same hands. The work takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems. Somewhere like Holyport, it helps to know about lanes, gates and where to park.

  1. You send photos, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
  2. Output, positions and price are settled before anything is booked.
  3. On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
  4. We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
  5. It’s switched on, checked and handed over with its records.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about parking and loading
  • Make sure we can reach the outdoor unit, or where it will go
  • Keep pets and children away from the work area

How the job changes from property to property

Multi-split systems

Indoor units on a multi-split don’t all have to look the same: a wall unit in one room, a ducted or floor unit in another, as the manufacturer allows. The survey settles which units go where.

Pipework and condensate drains

The indoor and outdoor units are joined by insulated refrigerant pipes, a cable and a condensate drain. We agree the route with you before we drill and kept as tidy as the building allows.

Your questions about air conditioning in Holyport

Will you come out to Holyport?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

Can I fit air conditioning in Holyport without planning permission?

That depends on the building and where the outdoor unit goes. A conservation area takes in the middle of Holyport. A system that heats as well as cools may not need an application on a house, provided it stays within the permitted development limits. Cooling-only units get no such allowance, and listed buildings and road-facing positions in conservation areas need more care. We speak to Windsor and Maidenhead council, which is usually the planning authority for Holyport when it matters.

How do you keep the place clean during the work?

Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets before any work starts, and we tidy up as we go. At the end, we clear up and show you what we have done.

Who is responsible for leak checks?

Responsibility is shared between the operator, usually whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.

How long does it take to fit air conditioning?

Allow a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer. The survey tells us how long your installation will need so there are no surprises.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, we work the same way: survey or diagnosis, a fixed price and proper paperwork.

Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?

Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. You get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.

From one of our customers

“Very professional from the initial survey through to installation. The engineer explained everything clearly and the quote was exactly what we paid. Would not hesitate to recommend AirCon Doctor.”
