About air conditioning in Windsor and Maidenhead
Think of it as diagnose, treat and sign off: the survey diagnoses what the rooms need, the installation is the treatment and commissioning is the sign-off. At sign-off, the system is tested in each mode, the controls are explained and the F-Gas records are left with you. Typical jobs include commercial rooms that are too warm for staff and uncertainty over the right type and size of system, on air-to-air heat pumps, multi-split systems and ceiling cassettes.
Wherever the system can be run before we leave, we run it and check it in operation. Then we show you what we’ve done and answer any questions, and anything that needs a follow-up is pointed out there and then. The visit takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems.
- We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from pictures and details for simple jobs.
- Cooling loads are worked out room by room, and the written price names the make, the model and every position.
- The indoor unit is fixed in place, the outside unit positioned, and the connecting runs put in tidily.
- Power is wired in, the joints are proved leak-tight under pressure and a vacuum pump draws out air and moisture.
- Last comes the run-up: every mode checked, the controls explained and the paperwork left with you.

Air conditioning across Windsor and Maidenhead
From Maidenhead, Windsor and Boyn Hill outwards, Windsor and Maidenhead has every kind of home. Each install starts with a survey of the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
Enquiries from Windsor and Maidenhead get a reply on the working day they arrive. Breakdowns can go to the 24/7 line instead.
Maidenhead: Around All Saints' Church, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install. Dorney Court (roughly 3 miles south-east) shows the area has its share of heritage. A listed home needs consent before an outdoor unit or pipework goes on.
Rented and managed buildings
Records are where property maintenance often slips. Every visit is written up, with F-Gas records wherever refrigerant work is involved, ready for a tenant, a buyer or an inspection.
We regularly work with managing agents. Tell us the property, the work and the access arrangements, and we will send a fixed-price quote.
What happens if it’s left?
Where the outdoor unit goes matters to you and to the neighbours. Placing it well keeps noise away from bedrooms and boundaries and makes servicing easier, and it can make a difference to planning. It’s agreed on the survey, not on the day.

System by system
Multi-split systems
A multi-split runs several indoor units from one outdoor unit. It’s a neat answer when space outside is limited and several rooms need it, with each room controlled separately.
Electrical supply
A dedicated circuit is normally needed. We’re NICEIC approved, so we fit and certify the circuit ourselves and that covers the Part P side.
What owners can safely do
For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do where the manufacturer’s manual explains how. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Simple care keeps the air moving through the system, but the inside of the units, the refrigerant and the electrics still need a qualified engineer.
Windsor and Maidenhead questions
Will you need to do electrical work?
Most systems need their own supply from the consumer unit. Adding a new circuit is notifiable building work under Part P unless it’s done by a registered competent person, and as NICEIC approved contractors we install and certify it as part of the job.
How soon will you get back to me?
The same working day. Then we agree a date that works for you, and you get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
Are you F-Gas certified?
We are an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work and MCS certified for heat pumps. We are also Checkatrade members.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes. If something urgent happens, like water coming from a unit or a critical room overheating, call our 24/7 line and we’ll tell you what to do first.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.
Is air conditioning possible in a flat?
Often, yes, but there are extra steps. Leaseholders normally need consent from the landlord or management company for an outdoor unit and holes through outside walls and the lease will say. Permitted development rules for flats are also tighter than for houses, and we flag anything that may need permission. This is general information, not legal advice.
Do you cover Windsor and Maidenhead?
