Air conditioning servicing in Morton

A service is not the same as a regas. The refrigerant circuit is sealed, so a system that is short of gas has a leak somewhere. If the performance checks point to a leak, we explain the options for finding and fixing it rather than just topping up. The work covers ducted systems, air-to-air heat pumps and VRF systems, and common reasons people get in touch are new noises from the indoor or outdoor unit and frost or ice on the refrigerant pipes.

We plan the trip to Morton and can service more than one unit in one visit, which keeps it simple.

Looking after a system is mostly common sense: clear space around the outdoor unit, the cleaning the manual describes and a service at the recommended interval. That also helps where the warranty terms ask for regular servicing.

FAQs for Morton

Does my air con in Morton need a yearly service?

Typically once a year for homes, more often for busy business systems. Check your manufacturer’s warranty terms too, as some of them make regular servicing a condition.

Does being near the sea make a difference to air conditioning servicing in Morton?

It can, as Morton is within about 1 mile of the sea, where salt in the air is hard on coils and fixings. Regular servicing, with the outdoor coil cleaned and checked, helps a coastal system last.

Do you cover Morton?

Yes. We work across Greater London, Surrey, Kent, East and West Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, Morton included.

Who is responsible for leak checks?

Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.

Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?

Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. You get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.

Can you come out in an emergency?

Yes. For anything urgent, such as a system failing in a server room or water leaking from a unit, ring our 24/7 line and we’ll agree what happens next.

Will you make a mess?

We start with protection: sheets over the floor and nearby furniture. Any drilling is agreed with you first, and we clear up the dust and offcuts when we finish.

Servicing in Morton: local notes

Morton is within about 1 mile of the coast. Salt air settles on outdoor coils, so coastal systems benefit from regular servicing. The middle of Morton is part of a conservation area. Historic England lists about 9 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Morton, including The Roman Villa (grade I). We keep it in mind in case a new outdoor unit is ever needed, as protected buildings can need consent for that.

How the visit works

Each visit runs to the same pattern: agree the plan on site, protect the area, carry out the job, check the system and explain it all to you. The visit itself takes a short visit for one split system, longer for multi-split, ducted or commercial plant. For a place like Morton, the timing is set with you and the travel is our side of the planning.

  1. We start with the details of the system and anything you’ve noticed.
  2. The indoor units are opened up and the filters, coils and drain trays cleaned.
  3. The outdoor unit is cleaned and checked, and debris cleared from around it.
  4. Electrical connections, controls and refrigerant performance are tested.
  5. Anything we find is explained, with a fixed price if it needs a repair.

Advice

Safe owner checks

Refrigerant is off limits for anyone without the right qualifications. Under the F-gas rules, engineers need their own qualifications and the company must be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

Managing agents and facilities teams in Morton

Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Every visit is written up, with F-Gas records wherever refrigerant work is involved, so you can show what was done and when.

Larger air conditioning systems in buildings need more than servicing: a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor is required at least every 5 years for systems over 12 kW. We can arrange it, prepare the system for it and fix what it finds.

Why act early in Morton

A service costs a set price and fits around your diary. A breakdown arrives without warning and that makes a planned service the simpler way to look after the system. Booking before summer means the work in Morton is done before the hot weather.

The pipe route, the height of the units and how we reach them can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote, and the price is fixed before we start.
