Fixed-price quotes for air conditioning servicing in Canary Wharf

Your quote is based on your property. We consider:

  • How easy the units are to reach
  • Which make and model is being fitted or worked on
  • What electrical work the job needs

What you pay depends on the system and the number of rooms or units, the access and what the work involves. We give you a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises.

Asking for a quote

You don’t need the technical terms. It helps if you can send:

  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is
  • The remote or wall controller showing any error
  • Where the outdoor unit is, or where you’d like it

Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because every property is different. After a look at the job, by photos or a survey, the price is fixed. To get going, ring 07833 053749 or email us.

Air conditioning servicing in Canary Wharf, done properly

Some systems need F-gas leak checks by law, and some don’t. GOV.UK sets the frequency by the system’s tonnes of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e): at least every 12 months from 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 to under 500 tCO2e. We tell you which band your system falls into and carry out the checks it needs. Typical jobs include water dripping from the indoor unit and no service record for the last year or more, across multi-split systems, ceiling cassettes and VRF systems.

For a flat or office in Canary Wharf, tell us where the outdoor unit is and how we reach it, as that affects how long the service takes. Managed buildings may need the visit booked through the agent.

AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company and NICEIC approved for electrical work, MCS certified for heat pumps and a Checkatrade member. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

How the visit works

Refrigerant work is done by qualified engineers working for an F-Gas certified company, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. So on the day, you do not need a separate electrician for the electrical side. On site, it takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit. Photos of the room and where the outdoor unit could go let us plan most of a visit to Canary Wharf in advance.

  1. A date is fixed and the service price confirmed in advance.
  2. We switch the system on and check it in operation.
  3. Filters, coils, fans and drains are cleaned and cleared.
  4. We check the wiring, controls and refrigerant circuit, and leak check systems that need it.
  5. We run the system again and leave you a service record.

Before we arrive

  • Make sure we can reach the consumer unit or fuse board
  • Move furniture away from the wall where we will be working
  • Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process

Getting a price

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Air conditioning servicing in Canary Wharf: the local picture

About 66% of homes across Canary Wharf and its surrounding area have been built since 2000, according to VOA council tax data, and about 93% of households live in flats, according to the 2021 Census. Outdoor units serving flats can be awkward to reach, so let us know where yours is. London outdoor units collect city dust and grime, so the outdoor coil gets particular attention on a service. Roughly a third of a mile or less from central Canary Wharf, you reach the West India Dock Conservation Area. 14 conservation areas lie within a mile of central Canary Wharf. Historic England lists about 53 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Canary Wharf, including Church of St Matthias (grade II*). For most visits that makes no difference. It only comes up when an outdoor unit has to be replaced on a protected building.

Site managers at schools like Our Lady and St Joseph Catholic Primary School can have the site’s units serviced during a holiday.

What we are called out for in Canary Wharf

The indoor coil is cold and wet when the system is cooling. Dust sticks to a wet surface, and over time the coil and drain tray can get dirty enough to smell.

Look out for any of the following:

  • A service that is overdue
  • A unit showing a fault code
  • Ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit

Businesses close to Canary Wharf station can book an early or late slot so the service doesn’t get in the way of trade.

How to choose an air conditioning engineer

Looking after it afterwards

Think of this as the after-treatment advice, in brief:

  • Shut doors to the room so the system isn’t cooling the whole house
  • Keep plants, bins and stored items away from the outdoor unit
  • Don’t wait for a small drip to become a leak

Put the next service in the diary right away. Many people book in spring, before the cooling season, or in autumn if they use the system for heating, though any time of year works.

Cleaning the filters between services helps a great deal. Most indoor units have filters you can slide out and rinse and the user manual explains how often.

Your questions about air conditioning servicing in Canary Wharf

How often should air conditioning in Canary Wharf be serviced?

For most homes, once a year. Larger systems holding 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent or more also need a leak check at least every 12 months under the F-gas rules.

What’s the best way to get a price for air conditioning servicing in Canary Wharf?

Start with a short message: the address, what you need and a picture or two. Straightforward work can be priced remotely. Bigger jobs get a survey and a written fixed price.

Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?

Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. Any work is priced before it goes ahead.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.

Is Canary Wharf in your area?

Yes. We cover Canary Wharf and across Greater London, as part of our area across London and the South East. To book, ring us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.

Do you look at the job first?

Yes. For simple jobs, pictures and a few details can be enough, while larger systems and faults that need testing are seen on site.

Can I do the refrigerant work myself?

The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That’s the law, not just our preference, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.

What a customer said

“Excellent service from start to finish. Two wall-mounted units installed in our home. Clean, tidy work: they protected all the floors and left no mess. The systems work brilliantly. Would highly recommend.”
