Our air conditioning service in TN9
We fit wall-mounted splits, multi-split systems, ducted systems and ceiling cassettes, plus VRF systems for bigger commercial buildings. The right choice depends on the rooms, the building and how visible you want the indoor units to be, and we explain the options on the survey. We’re often asked to deal with not knowing which system, size or brand to choose and working from home in a room that gets too warm, across multi-split systems, ducted systems and VRF systems.
The work area is kept tidy throughout, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. Any holes, fixings or cable routes are agreed with you before we drill. On site, it takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems.
- Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the rooms, outside space and fuse board.
- Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
- Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where needed.
- Before it runs, the pipework is proved tight and put under vacuum.
- The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.
How we quote
The price reflects the work, not guesswork. That is why every job is looked at first, and why the quote is fixed before any work starts.

Getting a price
Need a price for air conditioning? Please phone 07833 053749 or send an email with a few details about the property. We’ll explain what we’d recommend and why, then send a fixed-price quote before you commit to anything.
What’s near Tonbridge
We fit and service air conditioning in homes and premises around Church of St Peter and St Paul, Royal Rise Primary School and Hillview School for Girls and the streets around them. Nearby too are Ivy House Public House (less than half a mile west), New Beacon School (less than half a mile north-west) and Haysden Country Park (1.4 miles west). Tonbridge’s nearest station is Tonbridge station, roughly 0.6 miles south-west of the centre. Nearby you will also find The Milne Museum (within half a mile west) and Tonbridge Castle (less than half a mile south-west). Open spaces near Tonbridge include Tudeley Woods RSPB reserve and Barden Lake.
Air conditioning across TN9
From Tonbridge outwards, TN9 has every kind of home. We survey every property before we quote, then a fixed-price quote.
Across London and the South East, we reply to enquiries the same working day, and our emergency line is open 24/7.
Tonbridge: Ightham Mote, about 4.1 miles north, is one of the historic houses nearby, and if your own home is listed, consent comes before any air conditioning is fixed to it. If you work from home near Tonbridge station, a home office that overheats is one of the easiest rooms to cool.
What you can do yourself, and what needs us
There are a few things you can safely do yourself: keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter, check the settings and the remote, and follow the cleaning the manual describes. Anything inside the units, the electrics and the refrigerant is engineer’s work.
Keep a note of anything odd: an error code, a new noise, a drip, a smell or a change in how well the system heats or cools. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.
What affects the quote in TN9
Jobs vary more than people expect. What affects the quote:
- How far the pipework has to run, and where
- Whether we need access equipment for high-level work
- The condition of any existing system
- What kind of system it is
Putting the work off seldom saves money. Faults and wear in a system tend to grow, and a system working harder than it should costs more to run. If you’re not sure what’s needed, call us on 07833 053749 and we will give you an honest view and a fixed price.
Asking for a quote
To speed up the quote, send us:
- The rating plate or label on any existing unit
- The fuse board and where it is in the property
- The outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits or would go
- Any previous service or F-Gas records
Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because every property is different. Once we’ve looked at the job, from photos or on a survey, you get a fixed price. To get going, ring us on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.
After we’ve gone
How well a system lasts depends on use and care. We suggest:
- Wash or vacuum the filters as the manual describes
- Flag any change in how the system sounds or performs
- Shut doors and windows when it’s on
- File the paperwork with the manual
We show you how to take the filters out and clean them. In busy periods, clean them every few weeks, or as the manual recommends, and keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves and clutter.
Give the outdoor unit room to breathe. Anything piled against it, from leaves to garden furniture, reduces the airflow, which makes the whole system less efficient.
What we’re called out for in TN9
Portable units are often where people start, and why they call us. Portables push their warm air out through a hose in the window, so the window cannot close properly and the noisy part of the unit is in the room. With a split system, the compressor lives outside.
Any of these is worth a proper look:
- Old electric heaters you’d like to replace with something more efficient
- Commercial rooms that are too warm for staff
- A home office that warms up with screens and equipment
- An ageing air conditioning system near the end of its life
FAQs for TN9
Which type of air conditioning is best?
Number of rooms, space outside and how much of the unit you want to see all decide it. Ducted systems need a ceiling void or loft, and cassettes need a suspended ceiling, which we check on the survey.
How long will the installation take?
It takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system. The survey tells us how long your installation will need, so you can plan around it.
What accreditations do you have?
F-Gas company certification, NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps, and we’re Checkatrade members. Engineers who handle refrigerant hold their own F-gas qualifications as well.
Can I do any of the installation myself?
Not the refrigerant work. Under the F-gas rules, it must be done by qualified engineers from a certified company, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.
What does it cost to install air conditioning?
A single-room split system is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. A two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT, and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT, including supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation. The price is fixed before any work starts.
Does servicing affect my warranty?
It can, for some brands. Read the manufacturer’s terms, or send us the make and model and we will explain them, and book the service at the interval they recommend.
Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?
Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. You get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
