Air conditioning in TN4: how it works
We fit wall-mounted splits, multi-split systems, ducted systems and ceiling cassettes, plus VRF systems for bigger commercial buildings. Which one suits you depends on the space, the building and how much of the unit you want to see, and we explain the options on the survey. The work covers wall-mounted split systems, ducted systems and VRF systems, and common reasons people get in touch are expensive direct electric heating and portable units that are noisy and barely cope.
The work area is kept tidy throughout, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. If we need to drill through a wall, we agree the spot with you first. The visit takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system.
- First comes a site survey, or pictures and measurements for a straightforward job.
- Cooling loads are worked out room by room, and the written price names the make, the model and every position.
- Brackets go on, the units are hung and the refrigerant lines, cable and drain are routed between them.
- We connect the supply, pressure test the pipework and evacuate it before the refrigerant is released.
- Finally, it’s commissioned, tested in each mode and handed over with the F-Gas records.
Pricing in TN4
Our prices page shows typical ranges, but your price depends on the job in front of us. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we will talk you through it.
Why people in TN4 choose us
- Diagnosis first, then a fixed price
- F-Gas certified company
- MCS certified for heat pumps
- A site survey and a fixed-price quote
How to get a quote
VAT is set out clearly on every quote, with the rate that applies to your job. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it in writing rather than guess. To get one, phone 07833 053749 or use the quote form.

Air conditioning around TN4
Our air conditioning work across TN4 takes in places such as Royal Tunbridge Wells, Southborough and Broadwater Down and the smaller places around them. Every place on our TN4 list (7 in all) is covered.

Southborough: Penshurst Place, about 3.5 miles west, is one of the historic houses nearby, and if your own home is listed, consent comes before any air conditioning is fixed to it. Around Christ Church, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install.
Looking after your system
Looking after it is simple, and it helps at the next service:
- Do not cover or box in the outdoor unit
- Tell us if the unit starts to leak, rattle or show a code
- File the paperwork with the manual
- Avoid setting it far colder than you need
The work area is left tidy: sheets removed, packaging cleared up and pipe holes sealed. Outside, the pipework is neatly fixed and protected as agreed on the survey.
Clean the filters regularly, not just at the service. Clean filters keep the air moving and help the system work as designed, which costs you more to run.
For landlords and property managers
From a single flat to a whole estate, the approach is the same: a look at the job first, a fixed-price quote, work booked with the occupier and written records afterwards.
Bigger systems bring extra duties: systems with an effective rated output over 12 kW need a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor at least every 5 years. We arrange the inspection, get the system ready and put right anything it picks up.
What you can do yourself, and what needs us
Some faults have simple causes you can check first: is the system in the right mode, is the set temperature sensible, are the remote’s batteries working and has the breaker tripped. If a breaker trips again after you reset it, leave it off and ring us on 07833 053749 or use the quote form.
Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo of the display helps even more.
Fixed-price quotes for air conditioning in TN4
The survey or diagnosis tells us what the work involves. We look at:
- Access, including height, roofs and ladders
- The electrical supply and whether a new circuit is needed
- How far the pipework has to run, and where
- The size of the job
A single unit or a whole estate, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the equipment. You will have a fixed price before any work starts, and the quote sets out the VAT.
Before you get in touch
Photos and a few facts are often enough to price a simple job. Useful things to send:
- Wide pictures of the room or the existing unit
- The address and the type of property
- The make and model of the system, from the label
- The fuse board and where it is in the property
Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the inside and outside of the property where the work is, plus the rating plate of any unit already there. Tell us the address and what you need, and simple jobs can often be priced without a visit.
FAQs for TN4
Are you F-Gas certified?
We’re an F-Gas certified company, with NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps. We’re members of Checkatrade too.
Do I need to service the system to keep the warranty?
That depends on the brand. If servicing is in the terms, missing one could affect a claim and we’ll tell you what your brand asks for.
Is the equipment covered by a warranty?
It’s the manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by brand. For instance, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and we explain the terms for whichever brand you choose.
How long does it take to fit air conditioning?
Most single-room systems take a day. Multi-split, ducted and cassette systems take longer and the quote says how long to expect.
Do I need a new electrical circuit?
Usually, yes. We check your consumer unit on the survey and include any electrical work on the quote and we install and certify the circuit as NICEIC approved contractors.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. Homeowners, landlords, agents and businesses all book us across London and the South East. Let us know who the records should go to.
Which manufacturers do you install and repair?
Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi and others. For new systems, we recommend a brand and model to suit the job and explain why.
