Air source heat pumps in Wintershill

As an MCS certified installer, we fit air source heat pumps for homes in Wintershill and the rest of Hampshire. There are two kinds: air-to-water, which heats radiators or underfloor heating and your hot water, and air-to-air, which warms rooms through indoor units and can also cool. We’ll explain which type fits your home and why. If the problem is ageing boilers that will need replacing and comparing heat pump types, we can sort it out.

Homes around Wintershill typically have room outside for a heat pump, so the design comes down to heat loss, radiators and hot water.

Think of the paperwork as the system’s health record: a dated account of the work and the readings we took. If anything goes wrong later, it helps the next engineer and the manufacturer, so keep it safe.

How we price air source heat pumps

The quote reflects the job in front of us. We consider:

  • The size of the job
  • One-off work versus a regular service cycle
  • Which make and model is being fitted or worked on

A single unit or a whole estate, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the equipment. You will have a fixed price before we start, with VAT shown clearly.

What we need to know

Simple jobs can often be priced from photos and some basics. Send what you can of the following:

  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is
  • The fuse board and where it is in the property
  • The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area

Published ranges are a starting point; the quote is built on your property, because every property is different. After a look at the job, by photos or a survey, the price is fixed. To start, give us a ring on 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier.

Common questions in Wintershill

Can you do air source heat pumps in Wintershill?

Yes, Wintershill is within the area we cover. Just ring 07833 053749, or email if that’s easier with a few details.

Do you cover smaller places like Wintershill?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Send a few details and pictures, and we reply the same working day.

What warranty do I get?

It’s the manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by brand. Daikin, for instance, gives a standard 2 years on split air conditioning and we explain the terms for your brand on the quote.

Is a heat pump permitted development?

Under the Planning Portal rules, a heat pump on a house can often be permitted development. Listed buildings and their curtilages are excluded, and listed building consent is a separate matter, so we check for your property.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

Responsibility is shared between the operator, usually whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. How often depends on the size of the refrigerant charge in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.

How do you keep the place clean during the work?

We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and we tidy up as we go. At the end, we clear up and show you what we’ve done.

Do I get paperwork after the visit?

Yes, always. New installations come with commissioning details, F-Gas records and warranty information, and repairs and services get a record of the work.

The process

The visit has three parts, a bit like a doctor’s appointment: diagnose, treat and sign off. First comes a careful look at the system or the space, then the work itself, and finally everything is tested, recorded and explained. The middle part takes longest, which takes anything from a couple of days for air-to-air to the best part of a week for air-to-water with radiator changes. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Wintershill.

  1. We talk through your home, your current heating and what you want from a heat pump.
  2. A heat loss survey works out how much heat each room needs, and we look at the radiators, the cylinder space and where the outdoor unit could go.
  3. The price comes back fixed and in writing, with the grant and VAT shown line by line.
  4. Installation covers the outdoor unit, the indoor connections and the controls.
  5. We commission the heat pump, complete the MCS paperwork and talk you through the controls.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any managing agent or landlord rules we need to follow
  • Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
  • Tell us about parking and loading
