About our air source heat pumps in Burcott
A heat pump takes heat from the outside air and moves it into your home with electricity running the compressor and fans. The technology is close to air conditioning, which is why we install both and the Energy Saving Trust notes that air-to-air heat pumps are sometimes referred to as air conditioning. If the problem is not knowing whether a grant applies and moving away from fossil-fuel heating, we can sort it out.
If your home in or near Burcott is heated by oil, LPG or electric heaters with no mains gas, an extra £1,500 is available through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme until March 2027.
Warranty periods vary by brand and by product. For instance, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and its longer extensions apply to its air-to-water units only. For any other brand, we explain the manufacturer’s terms on your quote.

Owner checks or an engineer?
On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are usually the one part owners can clean where the manufacturer’s manual explains how. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.
Keep a note of anything odd: an error code, a new noise, a drip, a smell or a change in how well the system heats or cools. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.
Your questions about air source heat pumps in Burcott
Does the Boiler Upgrade Scheme cover homes in Burcott?
Burcott is covered, as the scheme runs across England and Wales. The amount depends on the type of heat pump, and the survey confirms which applies. As an MCS certified installer, we apply for it on your behalf.
Do you cover smaller places like Burcott?
Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. A few photos and the postcode are enough to get things started.
Why use an F-Gas certified company?
Companies working on equipment that contains F gas must be certified by an approved body, and the engineers need their own qualifications. It means the refrigerant in your system is handled legally.
What accreditations do you have?
As the law requires for refrigerant work, we’re an F-Gas certified company. NICEIC approval, MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership sit alongside it.
Is there a survey before the work?
Yes. For simple jobs, photos and a few details can be enough, while bigger systems and repairs that need testing get a visit.
Do I need new radiators for a heat pump?
The heat loss survey answers that, room by room. Rooms where the radiator is big enough stay as they are and any changes are in the quote.
Is a heat pump permitted development?
That depends on your home and the unit’s position. Flats have tighter limits, conservation areas add conditions, and Article 4 directions can remove rights, so we check during the survey.
Looking after your system
After the visit, a few habits help:
- Check what your manufacturer’s warranty asks of you
- Keep the MCS certificate with the manufacturer’s paperwork
- Leave indoor units unobstructed
Once commissioned, we register the installation with MCS and give you the certificate. Keep it with the manufacturer’s paperwork for future reference.
Keep radiators and indoor units unobstructed so the heat can get into the room.
How it works
You do not need to do much on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and we take it from there. At the end, we tidy up and run through the work with you. Work in Burcott is booked in advance at a time that suits you.
- First we find out about the property, the heating you have now and what you’re hoping for.
- The survey measures heat loss room by room and looks at radiators, hot water and the best spot for the outdoor unit.
- We send a fixed-price quote that shows the equipment, the grant position and the VAT.
- Installation covers the outdoor unit, the indoor connections and the controls.
- Once it’s running correctly, the MCS certificate is issued and we show you the settings.
Before we arrive
- Mention any managing agent or landlord rules we need to follow
- Clear the space around the indoor unit, or where it will go
- Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
Get a fixed-price quote
Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Add the address and what you’d like done, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Heat pumps in Burcott: local notes
The Bierton Conservation Area is within about a third of a mile of the centre of Burcott. Listed buildings are part of the picture here: about 21 within half a mile of the centre, such as Church of St James (grade I). For a heat pump, permitted development doesn’t apply within the grounds of a listed building, and in a conservation area the outdoor unit can’t go on a wall or roof facing a road, so we check with the planning team at Buckinghamshire council, which normally handles Burcott where needed. At about 37 miles from central London, Burcott sits inside the area we cover across London and the South East.
Every heat pump design starts with a room-by-room heat loss calculation. Live in one of the older houses around Church of St James? Expect the survey to look closely at heat loss and at the building’s planning status.
