Our engineers work in Beacon's Bottom on MCS certified installation of air source heat pumps for heating and hot water, with the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant applied for. Diagnosis first, a fixed price and proper paperwork when we finish.

System by system
Heat loss surveys
Getting the survey right avoids undersized or oversized systems and that matters for comfort and running.
Hot water cylinders
Existing cylinders may not be suitable for a heat pump, and we explain whether yours can stay.
Air source heat pumps in Beacon's Bottom, done properly
Hot water from an air-to-water system is stored in a cylinder. If you have a combi boiler and no cylinder, the survey looks at where one could go. With air-to-air, hot water has to come from something else. The work covers underfloor heating, air-to-water heat pumps and radiator systems, and common reasons people get in touch are questions about the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and no space for a hot water cylinder.
For a home around Beacon's Bottom that’s off mains gas and heated by oil or LPG, an extra £1,500 is available through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme until March 2027, on top of the £7,500.
We are an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work, MCS certified for heat pumps and a Checkatrade member. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

FAQs for Beacon's Bottom
Will you come out to Beacon's Bottom?
We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. We’re based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
Is the heat pump grant available in Beacon's Bottom?
Beacon's Bottom is covered, as the scheme runs across England and Wales. For an air-to-water heat pump the amount is £7,500; an air-to-air system can get £2,500 if it replaces the fossil-fuel heating outright, meets the home’s full heating demand and is not an add-on to a boiler. We hold MCS certification, so the application is ours to make for you.
Can you look at a system you didn’t fit?
Yes. Systems fitted by other companies are fine, on all the main brands. Send us the make and model, and any records you have.
Do I need planning permission for a heat pump?
Many installations on houses in England fall under permitted development, subject to the rules. Listed buildings and their curtilages are excluded, and listed building consent is a separate matter, so we check for your property.
What warranty do I get?
It’s the manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by brand. Daikin, for instance, gives a standard 2 years on split air conditioning and we explain the terms for your brand on the quote.
Are my radiators big enough for a heat pump?
We find out during the survey. Rooms where the radiator is big enough stay as they are, and any that need upsizing are set out in the quote.
Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?
The operator of the equipment, working with qualified engineers. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We will work out which band applies to yours.
What we do, step by step
Our engineers arrive at the time agreed with you and run through the plan before anything else. Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets, and anything electrical is made safe before work starts. On site, it takes a few days for most air-to-water installations, with air-to-air systems often quicker. A note on how to find the property and where to park makes a visit to Beacon's Bottom easier.
- First, a chat about the property and your goals for the heating.
- We survey for heat loss and look at radiators, cylinder space and outdoor unit options.
- We recommend air-to-water or air-to-air and check the grant position.
- Installation follows on the agreed dates.
- The job ends with commissioning, the MCS certificate and a walk through the controls.
Before we arrive
- Keep pets out of the rooms we’re working in
- Have the make and model of any existing unit to hand
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, high walls or locked plant areas
Getting a quote
Some jobs can be priced from pictures, while others need a survey. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Air source heat pumps in Beacon's Bottom: the local picture
About 68% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to Census 2021 figures. Houses typically have space for an outdoor unit and a hot water cylinder. Historic England lists about 4 buildings and structures within half a mile of the centre of Beacon's Bottom, including Horsleys Green Manor (grade II). For a heat pump, permitted development doesn’t apply within the grounds of a listed building, and in a conservation area the outdoor unit cannot go on a wall or roof facing a road, so we check with the planning team at Buckinghamshire council, which normally handles Beacon's Bottom where needed.
West Wycombe Park House lies about 2.7 miles east. Owners of listed homes need consent before a heat pump is fitted, so it’s one of our first questions. Every heat pump design starts with a room-by-room heat loss calculation.

Pricing air source heat pumps in Beacon's Bottom
You’ll get a fixed price before work begins. It’s based on:
- Access, including height, roofs and ladders
- Whether it’s a one-off job or part of a maintenance contract
- The type of system, from a single split to a larger system
The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, the access and the parts and time the job needs. We give you a fixed price before any work starts, so you know where you stand.
Helping us quote
Good pictures often save a visit. The most useful are:
- The remote or wall controller showing any error
- A photo of the consumer unit with the cover closed
- Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
Here’s what helps us quote: the address and the type of property, a few pictures, the brand and model of anything already fitted and anything you’ve noticed, such as an error code or a noise. Once you have those, give us a ring on 07833 053749.
