About our commercial air conditioning in Battle

We design, install and look after air conditioning for businesses in Battle and across East Sussex. That includes offices, shops, restaurants, hotels, schools and server rooms and we choose the system to suit the space and the way it’s used. If you’re dealing with systems over 12 kW due a TM44 inspection and new tenancies needing cooling and heating, we can sort it out.

Around Battle, many businesses choose systems that heat as well as cool, which can replace old heaters in shops and offices.

Warranty periods vary by brand and by product. For instance, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and its longer extensions apply to its air-to-water units only. Whatever the brand, the manufacturer’s terms are explained on your quote.

The process

You don’t need to do much on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and the rest is down to us. Before we leave, the area is tidied and we explain what we’ve done. A few pictures let us plan a visit to a place like Battle.

  1. We visit the site to look at the building, how it’s used and what the system needs to do.
  2. You get a fixed-price quote with the equipment, the layout and the programme set out.
  3. Dates are set with you so trading, teaching or treatment carries on, using evenings, weekends or phases where it helps.
  4. On site, the team mounts the plant, runs and proves the pipework, and wires the controls.
  5. Finally it’s commissioned and handed over, with the refrigerant records and manuals for your files.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in
  • Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
  • Keep pets out of the rooms we’re working in

Ask for a quote

To get a fixed-price quote, ring 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk with the address and a few details about the rooms or units involved. A few photos make it quicker. We reply to enquiries the same working day.

Advice

Do you need commercial air conditioning in Battle?

Older systems running on R410A face rising costs for top-ups as the GB HFC phase-down tightens supply. Repairs on existing R410A systems remain legal though it’s worth bearing in mind when planning ahead.

Reasons to give us a call include:

  • Installs that must fit around trading hours
  • Missing F-gas records for commercial systems
  • Changes of use that need a new layout

For a school like Battle and Langton Church of England Primary School, air conditioning work is best done out of term.

What your quote should include

  • Whether the manufacturer’s warranty depends on regular servicing
  • Which brand and model they’re proposing, and why
  • Whether the price is fixed or an estimate

How to choose an air conditioning engineer

System by system

Hotels and schools

Larger buildings may need TM44 inspections at least every 5 years and we can get the system ready and carry out the work it recommends.

Shops and restaurants

Restaurant dining rooms have changing loads through the day and the controls need to handle that.

Your questions about commercial air conditioning in Battle

Is air conditioning in Battle permitted development?

It depends on the property. Central Battle sits inside a conservation area. A system that heats as well as cools may not need an application on a house, provided it stays within the permitted development limits. Cooling-only units get no such allowance, and listed buildings and road-facing positions in conservation areas need more care. We speak to the planning department at Rother council, usually the authority for Battle when it matters.

Do you cover smaller places like Battle?

Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. Send a few details and pictures, and we reply the same working day.

What accreditations do you have?

We hold F-Gas company certification, which the law requires for any business working on refrigerant. We are also NICEIC approved, MCS certified for heat pumps and Checkatrade members.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. For simple jobs, photos and a few details can be enough, while bigger systems and repairs that need testing get a visit.

How much time does a commercial air con install need?

As a guide, it takes anything from a day or two for a small office to several weeks of phased work on a large building. Out-of-hours and phased work can spread the programme but keeps the business running.

Do you offer emergency call-outs?

Yes. There’s a 24/7 emergency line for breakdowns that cannot wait. Call 07833 053749 and tell us what’s happened.

How soon will you get back to me?

The same working day. After that, we agree a survey, diagnosis or installation date that suits you, with a fixed price before work starts.

What owners can safely do

Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. Under the F-gas rules, engineers need their own qualifications and the company must be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are normally the one part owners can clean, if the manual says so. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.

Cooling for Battle businesses

Food Standards Agency records list about 20 cafés, restaurants and staff canteens, about 5 schools and colleges and about 5 care homes, nurseries and hospitals within 1.5 miles or so of the middle of Battle. Many of those sites need air conditioning that is sized for long hours and maintained on a schedule.

For a surgery or clinic in the Conquest Hospital area, a planned maintenance contract keeps the system clean and its records up to date.

From one of our customers

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
