Air con installers in Yeading

Any installation we do in Yeading follows the same process as everywhere else we work: survey, fixed-price quote, a neat installation, full commissioning and the F-Gas paperwork. You know the price before we start and the paperwork is in your hands when we finish. Looking for air con installers near Yeading? AirCon Doctor works across London and the South East from East Grinstead, with a fixed-price quote before any work starts.

Across London, and in Yeading too, a lot of air conditioning goes into flats and terraces rather than detached houses. That shapes the job: where the outdoor unit can go, how the pipework reaches it and who needs to agree first. In a flat, the lease and the freeholder usually come into it, so we write up the proposed positions for them to see.

Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: commissioning details and F-Gas records for a new system, a note of the fault and the fix for a repair, or a service record. File it with the manual so it’s to hand next time.

The process

Wherever the system can be run before we leave, we run it and check it in operation. Then we explain what was done and answer your questions, and anything that needs a follow-up is pointed out there and then. All told, the work takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems. A few photos of the room, the outside wall and the fuse board help us plan a job in Yeading.

  1. You send photos, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
  2. Output, positions and price are settled before anything is booked.
  3. On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
  4. We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
  5. The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.

Preparing for the visit

  • Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
  • Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in
  • Keep pets out of the rooms we are working in

Getting a quote

Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.

Signs you need air conditioning in Yeading

Some people come to us for heating rather than cooling. Direct electric heaters convert electricity into heat one for one, while an air-to-air heat pump moves heat from outside, which means more heat out than electricity in. Most modern split systems work this way.

Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:

  • A home office that warms up with screens and equipment
  • A business premises that overheats in summer
  • Rooms under the roof that stay hot into the night

If your home is in one of the older streets near St Joseph the Worker & Dovetail Centre, it’s worth checking whether it’s listed or in a conservation area before an install.

What your quote should include

  • Whether the quote shows VAT clearly
  • Whether the manufacturer’s warranty depends on regular servicing
  • What’s in the price and what isn’t

Air conditioning in Yeading: local notes

VOA council tax data date about 45% of homes in Yeading and the neighbourhoods around it to the post-war years, 1945 to 1972. We check the wall construction on homes of that age, as it decides how the pipework goes through. London installs often hinge on outside space, the lease and access to the building.

About 1.4 miles north-east stands Northolt Manor. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one.

Your questions about air conditioning in Yeading

How do I get a quote for air conditioning in Yeading?

Start with a short message: the address, what you need and a picture or two. Simple jobs can be priced from photos; otherwise we arrange a site survey and then give you a fixed-price quote.

Can you fit air conditioning in a London flat in Yeading?

Often, yes, but the lease and the freeholder typically have a say. We look at where the outdoor unit could go, such as a balcony, flat roof or rear wall, and write it up for the freeholder or agent.

Can the outdoor unit go on a roof or at ground level?

Wall brackets, ground level and flat roofs are all options, chosen for the pipe route, airflow and access. We also think about noise near bedrooms and neighbours and position can affect planning.

Will you need to do electrical work?

Normally, yes. The fuse board is checked on the survey, and any electrical work goes on the quote, and our NICEIC approval covers the installation and certificate.

Does servicing affect my warranty?

It can, for some brands. Send us the make and model and we’ll tell you what the manufacturer expects, and book the service at the interval they recommend.

Can air conditioning heat my home as well?

Usually, yes. Running as a heat pump, it moves heat in from outside rather than making it from electricity alone. If you want it to replace your main heating, ask about air-to-air heat pumps and the conditions for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant.

Which manufacturers do you install and repair?

We work with the leading brands, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we’ll take it from there.

Rented and managed buildings

We regularly work with managing agents. Tell us the property, the work and the access arrangements, and we’ll send a fixed-price quote.

Larger air conditioning systems in buildings need more than servicing: a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor is required at least every 5 years for systems over 12 kW. We can arrange it, prepare the system for it and fix what it finds.

How the job changes from property to property

Outdoor unit positions

On flats and terraced houses, space outside is often the deciding factor. Every option is checked on the survey and we flag any consent you may need.

Wall-mounted split systems

For one room, a wall-mounted split is often the simplest answer. The indoor unit sits high on a wall, the outdoor unit goes outside, and the two are joined by insulated pipework, a cable and a condensate drain, with the route agreed on the survey.

A customer’s words

“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
