What an install looks like in Tackley
Census 2021 figures found about 66% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it. The Tackley Conservation Area is within about a third of a mile of the centre of Tackley. Draw a one-mile circle round the middle of Tackley and it takes in 2 conservation areas. Church of St Nicholas, listed at grade II*, is one of roughly 25 protected buildings and structures in the half-mile around Tackley’s centre. Before any outdoor unit is fixed here, we find out whether the building is protected. Where it is, West Oxfordshire council, normally the planning authority here has the final say on what’s allowed.
Homes near Church of St Nicholas are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it. Plenty of people near Tackley station split the week between the train and a spare room, and that spare room is often the first to get a unit.

Leave it or put it right?
Fans and portables move warm air around rather than removing it. A properly installed split moves heat outside, keeps the noisy parts out of the room and in most cases heats too, so it earns its keep all year. For a village like Tackley, booking ahead lets us plan the trip properly.
Our prices page shows typical ranges, but each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed-price quote, and we’ll talk you through it.

Your questions about air conditioning in Tackley
Do you cover Tackley for air conditioning?
Yes, Tackley is within the area we cover. Tell us a little about the job and we’ll take it from there.
Is Tackley within the area you cover?
Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.
Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?
Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We can tell you which band your system falls into.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, with visits at the interval your system and the manufacturer need. Each visit is recorded and F-Gas records kept where they apply.
Why use an F-Gas certified company?
For refrigerant work, both the engineer and the company need the right F-gas credentials. It’s worth checking before booking, and we are happy to show ours.
Does servicing affect my warranty?
Check the manufacturer’s terms. Some manufacturers make regular servicing by a qualified engineer a condition of the warranty, so check the terms or ask us. Either way, keep a record of every service.
Is the equipment covered by a warranty?
Warranty is the manufacturer’s own, on its terms. Each brand sets its own conditions and periods, so we explain them on your quote.
What we do, step by step
The work area is kept tidy throughout, with sheets down and mess cleared as we go. Any holes, fixings or cable routes are agreed with you before we drill. The visit takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system. If a lane or gateway near Tackley is tight for a van, let us know and we will plan for it.
- We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from pictures and details for simple jobs.
- You receive one fixed figure covering the kit, the fitting and the positions we agreed.
- The units go up and the pipework, cable and condensate drain are run neatly between them.
- Power is wired in, the joints are proved leak-tight under pressure and a vacuum pump draws out air and moisture.
- We commission the system, show you the controls and leave the F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty details.
Getting ready for the visit
- Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
- Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process
- Clear access to the fuse board
Getting a quote
Photos are enough for some jobs; others need a visit first. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work is booked.
Advice
Landlords, agents and facilities managers
Records are where property maintenance often slips. Each visit produces a dated record, with F-Gas records wherever refrigerant work is involved, so you can show what was done and when.
Where a tenant occupies the property but the landlord owns the system, it’s worth checking the agreement for who looks after the system. We can quote either party, and the paperwork can go to both.
