Air conditioning for homes and businesses in Seal

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi are among the brands we fit. We recommend a model on the survey and explain why it suits the room, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. Whether you call it air con, air conditioning or an air-to-air heat pump, it’s the job we do every week across Kent.

Around Seal, many people choose a system that heats as well as cools, which suits rooms the main heating doesn’t reach well, such as a garden room or loft.

If a fault appears while the equipment is under the manufacturer’s warranty, tell us the make, model and installation date. We’ll tell you how the manufacturer’s warranty is likely to apply before anything chargeable is done.

Honest limits

In fairness, some problems need a different answer:

  • Building damp that has a structural cause
  • Heat loss through very poor insulation (a system will heat the room, but insulation is a separate job)
  • Stuffy rooms that need fresh air rather than cooling

Not sure which it is? You can phone 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What the work covers

  • Ceiling cassettes
  • Air-to-air heat pumps
  • Multi-split systems
  • Wall-mounted split systems
  • Ducted systems
  • VRF systems

How it works

Testing is the last part of the visit wherever the system can be switched on. Then we explain what was done and answer your questions, and anything that needs attention later is pointed out. The visit takes a day for most single-room installations, with multi-split, ducted and cassette systems taking longer. Visits to Seal are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. You send photos, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
  2. Output, positions and price are settled before anything is booked.
  3. On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
  4. Connections are made, checked for leaks and pulled down to a vacuum.
  5. The system is commissioned, the controls explained and the F-Gas records handed over.

How to prepare

  • Plan for pets to be kept clear during the visit
  • Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
  • Let us know where we can park and unload

Common questions in Seal

Will you come out to Seal?

We do. Villages and hamlets get the same service as the bigger towns. A few pictures and the postcode are enough to get things started.

Can you do air conditioning in Seal?

Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and Seal is part of that. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.

Will you make a mess?

We put dust sheets over floors and furniture near the work first, and the area is kept tidy throughout. Before we leave, we clear up and run through the work with you.

What does it cost to install air conditioning?

It depends on the rooms, the system and the pipe route, but a single-room split is typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. Where you sit in the range depends on pipe length, access, electrics and the model, while commercial systems are priced after a survey.

Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?

Normally, yes. The fuse board is checked on the survey, and any electrical work goes on the quote, and our NICEIC approval covers the installation and certificate.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. We always look before we price, either on a site survey or from photos and details for simple jobs. Then you get a fixed-price quote.

What warranty do I get?

Warranty comes from the manufacturer and depends on the brand and product. Daikin, for example, gives a standard 2 years on split air conditioning, and we explain the terms for whichever brand you choose.

What an install looks like in Seal

Seal’s centre falls inside a designated conservation area. About 38 listed entries lie within half a mile of central Seal, Church of St Peter and St Paul (grade I) among them. Before any outdoor unit is fixed here, we find out whether the building is protected. Where it is, the local planning authority (usually Sevenoaks council) has the final say on what’s allowed. At about 20 miles from central London, Seal sits inside the area we cover across London and the South East.

Homes near Church of St Peter and St Paul are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it. About 1.8 miles south stands Knole House. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one.

For landlords and property managers

For anyone managing more than one building, we can quote and plan the work across all of them. Each property gets its own records, so each one has its own history.

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works, and we’ll send a fixed-price quote.

Leave it or put it right?

Planning ahead beats a rushed decision in a heatwave. When people buy in a hurry, the unit is often the wrong size or badly placed, which is costly to undo. Booking the survey early gives you time to weigh up the options. For a village like Seal, booking ahead lets us plan the trip properly.

Height, access and the distance between the indoor and outdoor units all affect the cost. Each of those is built into the quote and give you a fixed price before any work starts.
