Air conditioning installation in Stone Street
For supply, installation and commissioning of air conditioning for homes and businesses, from one room to a whole building in Stone Street, one call is all it takes: diagnosis, fixed price, work and sign-off. An F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved, on Checkatrade.
- Working from home in a room that gets too warm
- Old electric heaters you’d like to replace with something more efficient
- A business premises that overheats in summer
How the visit works
There’s very little for you to do on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and the rest is down to us. Before we leave, the area is tidied and we explain what we’ve done. Somewhere like Stone Street, it helps to know about lanes, gates and where to park.
- First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
- Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
- The treatment: units fitted, pipework and drain routed, and the electrics installed.
- Before it runs, the pipework is proved tight and put under vacuum.
- The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.
Getting ready for the visit
- Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
- Keep pets out of the rooms we’re working in
- Tell us about any building rules, permits or sign-in
Get a fixed-price quote
Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Add the address and what you’d like done, and simple jobs can often be priced without a visit.

Homes around Stone Street usually have room outside for an outdoor unit. More often it’s the walls, the electrics and the length of the pipe run that need thinking about.
Warranty periods vary by brand and by product. Daikin, for instance, gives a standard 2 years on split air conditioning, with longer extensions only on its air-to-water heat pumps. For any other brand, we explain the manufacturer’s terms on your quote.

After we’ve gone
Once we have finished, these simple steps help:
- Clean the filters every few weeks when the system is in heavy use
- Leave space around the outdoor unit
- Choose a comfortable set temperature rather than the lowest
We clear up before we go: dust sheets lifted, offcuts and packaging cleared, and the holes for the pipework sealed. Outside, the pipework is neatly fixed and protected as agreed on the survey.
Give the outdoor unit room to breathe. Anything piled against it, from leaves to garden furniture, reduces the airflow, and the system has to work harder as a result.
When it’s something else
In fairness, there are a few things this work won’t fix:
- An installation that needs consent nobody has given yet
- Stuffy rooms that need fresh air rather than cooling
- Problems with a gas boiler or the radiators
If you are not sure, just phone us on 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form and we will give you a straight answer.

What an install looks like in Stone Street
About 73% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the last census (2021). With homes like that, finding a sensible outdoor unit position is rarely hard, and a multi-split lets two or more rooms run off it. Stone Street’s centre falls inside a designated conservation area. About 4 listed entries lie within half a mile of central Stone Street, Pond Farmhouse (pond Lane) (grade II) among them. Heritage protection changes what an install can involve, so the survey looks at your address first and tells you plainly whether consent is likely.
Ightham Mote, about 1.1 miles south-east, is one of the historic houses nearby, and if your own home is listed, consent comes before any air conditioning is fixed to it. Around St Lawrence, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install.

What else we do in Stone Street
Different systems, different jobs
Ceiling cassettes
Ceiling cassettes fit into the ceiling and push air out in several directions and they’re a common choice for offices, shops and larger rooms.
Electrical supply
Most systems need their own circuit from the consumer unit. As NICEIC approved contractors, we install it and issue the certificate, which takes care of the Part P notification.
Stone Street: your questions answered
Is Stone Street within the area you cover?
Yes, and the size of the place makes no difference to how we work. Send a few details and pictures, and we reply the same working day.
Can you do air conditioning in Stone Street?
Yes, Stone Street is within the area we cover. To start, phone us on 07833 053749 or send an email with a few photos.
Which brands do you work with?
We work with the leading brands, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we will take it from there.
Will I need planning permission?
It can do. Heat pumps and cooling-only units are treated differently, and so are flats, listed buildings and conservation areas. We point out anything that may need permission at the survey and the council makes the decision. This is general information, not legal advice.
Which accreditations do you hold?
We hold F-Gas company certification, which the law requires for any business working on refrigerant. NICEIC approval, MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership sit alongside it.
What does F-Gas certified mean?
The law says any company working on equipment containing F gas has to be certified, and the engineers need their own qualifications. It means the refrigerant in your system is handled legally.
What warranty do I get?
It’s the manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by brand. For example, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years, and we explain the terms for whichever brand you choose.
From one of our customers
“Very professional from the initial survey through to installation. The engineer explained everything clearly and the quote was exactly what we paid. Would not hesitate to recommend AirCon Doctor.”
