Need air conditioning in Lynsted?

Air conditioning in Lynsted, done properly

We install leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. We recommend a model on the survey and explain why it suits the room, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. Every installation in Lynsted begins with a look at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go, then a fixed-price quote that names the make and model.

Most single-room installs in Lynsted are done in a day, while multi-split systems for several rooms can take longer, and we leave the room clean and the controls explained.

Homes around Lynsted typically have room outside for an outdoor unit. The questions are more often the age of the walls, the electrics and how far the pipes need to run.

AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company and NICEIC approved for electrical work, with MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership. Our engineers hold the F-gas qualifications needed to work on refrigerant.

The process

Anything involving refrigerant is handled by F-Gas qualified engineers, as the law requires, while the electrical side is covered by our NICEIC approval. So on the day, you do not need a separate electrician for the electrical side. On site, it takes a day or more, depending on the number of rooms, the pipe routes and the access. Visits to Lynsted are agreed with you in advance and planned so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.

  1. We start by looking at the rooms, the walls and where the outdoor unit can go.
  2. You receive one fixed figure covering the kit, the fitting and the positions we agreed.
  3. The units go up and the pipework, cable and condensate drain are run neatly between them.
  4. We connect the supply, pressure test the pipework and evacuate it before the refrigerant is released.
  5. The system is commissioned and checked in every mode, and we hand over the controls, F-Gas records and warranty information.

Before we arrive

  • Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
  • Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it
  • Move furniture away from the wall where we will be working

Your questions about air conditioning in Lynsted

Is Lynsted in your area for air conditioning?

Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and Lynsted is part of that. Tell us a little about the job and we’ll take it from there.

Will air conditioning in Lynsted need planning permission?

That depends on the building and where the outdoor unit goes. Central Lynsted is a short walk from the Street, Lynsted Conservation Area. Permitted development only covers heat pumps that aren’t used solely for cooling, and not within the grounds of a listed building. Conservation areas add limits on outdoor units facing a road. Where necessary, we check with Swale council, which is usually the planning authority for Lynsted.

How do I know what size unit to get?

It depends on the room, not only its floor area. Glazing, orientation, the roof and what goes on in the room all affect it, and we take them all into account on the survey.

How do you keep the place clean during the work?

Protection goes down first: dust sheets over floors and anything close to the work. Holes and fixings are agreed with you, and we clean up afterwards before we leave.

Which manufacturers do you install and repair?

We work with the leading brands, from Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin and Fujitsu to Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we’ll take it from there.

Can I do the refrigerant work myself?

The refrigerant side has to be done by a qualified engineer working for an F-Gas certified company. That is a legal requirement, and it also matters for the manufacturer’s warranty. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. Photos often do the job for simple work, while larger systems and faults that need testing are seen on site.

When something else is needed

Before you book, it helps to know what’s not included:

  • A ventilation problem rather than a temperature problem
  • Work that needs permission from a landlord or the council
  • Building damp that has a structural cause

If in doubt, phone us on 07833 053749 or email us and we’ll say what we think.

Where we work

  • Wall-mounted split systems
  • Ducted systems
  • Air-to-air heat pumps
  • Multi-split systems
  • VRF systems
  • Ceiling cassettes

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

Don’t move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrical side needs a competent person. Ask us to quote for a move instead.

Before you call us about a fault, a few checks can save a visit: check the mode, the set temperature, the remote’s batteries and the breaker. If a breaker trips again after you reset it, leave it off and ring us on 07833 053749.

Air conditioning in Lynsted: the local picture

VOA council tax data put about 35% of homes in and around Lynsted before 1919, and Census 2021 figures found about 69% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. Older homes often have solid walls, which take longer to core drill, so we plan pipe routes carefully and keep them as discreet as we can. Detached and semi-detached houses usually have space for the outdoor unit, and several rooms can share one on a multi-split.

With historic houses such as Belmont House and Gardens about 3.8 miles south-east, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules.

What we are called out for in Lynsted

Computers, screens, lighting and people all give off heat. A home office with a couple of screens, or a meeting room with a few people in it, warms up quickly, even on a mild day.

Common reasons people call us include:

  • A loft room or top floor that bakes in summer
  • Not knowing which system, size or brand to choose
  • An ageing air conditioning system near the end of its life

Homes near Church of St Peter and St Paul are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.
