Common questions in The Village
Will you come out to The Village?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. We are based in East Grinstead and plan each visit so the job can be finished in one trip where possible.
Can you do air conditioning servicing in The Village?
Yes. The Village is one of the places we cover. Tell us a little about the job and we’ll take it from there.
Can landlords and managing agents book you?
Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, we work the same way: survey or diagnosis, a fixed price and proper paperwork.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used, and we’ll suggest a schedule with a fixed price. That can include the leak checks the F-gas rules require for larger systems.
What does an annual air con service cost?
Our annual service costs £95–£150 + VAT. Where the system is larger or more complex, we price it from the details you give us, so the cost is fixed before work begins.
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 for problems that cannot wait for a planned visit. Ring 07833 053749 any time and explain the problem.
Are you F-Gas certified?
We’re an F-Gas certified company, NICEIC approved for electrical work and MCS certified for heat pumps. We’re members of Checkatrade too.
Air conditioning servicing in The Village, done properly
Many manufacturers attach conditions to their warranties, and some of those may include regular servicing. Each brand sets its own terms and we’re happy to go through them with you. You get a record of each service to keep with the warranty paperwork. If the problem is a service that’s overdue and a unit showing a fault code, we can help.
In a village like The Village, outdoor units often face hedges, fields or gardens, so leaves, seeds and cobwebs collect on the coil. A yearly clean keeps the system working well.
Some warranty terms depend on the system being serviced regularly by a qualified engineer. Where yours does, a regular service with us keeps that side in order, and every service is written up.

System by system
Filters
When filters fill with dust, less air moves through the system. That makes it harder for the system to reach the temperature you’ve set, which is why filters are always part of the service.
Wall-mounted, ducted and cassette units
In most homes, the indoor units are wall-mounted. They open up for the filters, coil and fan to be cleaned and the drain is cleared at the same visit.
Signs you need air conditioning servicing in The Village
The outdoor unit lives outside. Leaves, grime and plant growth gather on the fins and around the unit, which makes it harder for the unit to shed or pick up heat.
Most people get in touch after spotting something like this:
- A musty or damp smell when the unit starts
- Ice forming on the pipework or outdoor unit
- A system that struggles to cool on warm days
For a school like Windsor Girls' School, maintenance visits can be booked out of term.
What to look for in a quote
- Whether testing, commissioning and paperwork are included
- Which brand and model they’re proposing, and why
- How VAT is shown, and which rate applies
When something else is needed
To be straight with you, some problems need a different answer:
- A refrigerant leak, which needs finding and repairing, not topping up
- Rooms that gain heat faster than any unit could cope with
- Parts that have failed and need replacing
If in doubt, call 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk and we’ll say what we think before booking.

The process
If the system has to be off for part of the visit, we tell you before work begins, so you can plan around it. In a business, work can often be done one area at a time. On site, it takes a short visit for one split system, longer for multi-split, ducted or commercial plant. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to The Village.
- We start with the basics, such as the brand, the number of indoor units and any symptoms.
- We run the system first and see how it’s performing.
- We clean the filters and coils and make sure the condensate drains away.
- The wiring, controls and refrigerant performance are checked, plus a leak check on systems large enough to need one.
- We leave you a record of the service and explain anything we found.
How to prepare
- Let us know where the consumer unit is
- Make sure someone can let us in at the agreed time
- Let us know where we can park and unload
Get a fixed-price quote
Quoting starts with a diagnosis, either on a site survey or, for simple jobs, from your photos and details. After that, we send a fixed price so you know the cost before we begin.
