About our air conditioning servicing in Sunninghill
We are asked to service systems for many different reasons: a musty smell, weak cooling, water dripping indoors or simply because it’s been a while. The same full set of checks applies whatever prompted the call. The work covers wall-mounted split systems, air-to-air heat pumps and VRF systems, and common reasons people get in touch are smells coming from the indoor unit and systems that haven’t been serviced for a while.
We book services in Sunninghill at a time that suits you, and most single systems take an hour or two.
Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: commissioning details for an installation, a fault and repair note for a repair, or a record of the service. Keep it with the system’s paperwork so it’s to hand next time.

Keeping systems in Sunninghill running
About 30% of homes in Sunninghill and the neighbourhoods around it have been built since 2000, according to the Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures, and about 66% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the 2021 Census. Tell us where your outdoor unit is and how to reach it, so we can plan the visit. The middle of Sunninghill is part of a conservation area. About 5 listed entries lie within half a mile of central Sunninghill, Brook House (grade II) among them. That only matters for replacements, where a new outdoor unit on a protected building can need consent.
Spring is a good time for a service, before the system is needed for cooling. Schools such as St Michael's CofE Primary School can book servicing for half term or the summer break, when rooms are empty.

Before you call an engineer
Leave the units and pipework where they are. Moving a unit involves the refrigerant circuit, so it needs an F-Gas qualified engineer, and the electrical side needs a competent person. Ask us to quote for a move instead.
There are a few things you can safely do yourself: keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter, check the settings and the remote, and follow the cleaning the manual describes. Anything inside the units, the electrics and the refrigerant is engineer’s work.
How it works
We keep the work area tidy as we go, with dust sheets down and offcuts and packaging cleared up. If we need to drill through a wall, we agree the spot with you first. The visit takes anything from an hour for a simple split system to most of a day for a larger installation. Let us know how to reach the outside wall or outdoor unit at your property near Sunninghill.
- We ask about the system: the make, the number of indoor units and any problems you’ve noticed.
- We run the system first and see how it’s performing.
- Filters are cleaned, coils treated and the drain tray and pipe cleared.
- The wiring, controls and refrigerant performance are checked, plus a leak check on systems large enough to need one.
- Before leaving, the engineer writes up the visit and talks you through anything worth knowing.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, high walls or locked plant areas
- Dig out any previous service or F-Gas records
Ask for a quote
Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Add the address and what you’d like done, and many jobs can be priced from that.

Sunninghill questions
Is Sunninghill within the area you cover?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Visits to smaller places are planned so the engineer arrives with what the job needs.
How often do you service systems in Sunninghill?
A yearly visit is right for most households. Check your manufacturer’s warranty terms too, as some of them make regular servicing a condition.
What does an air con service involve?
A clean of the parts that collect dirt and a check of the parts that do the work. Filters, coils and drains are cleaned, and the electrics, controls and refrigerant circuit checked, and F-gas leak checks where they apply.
How soon will you get back to me?
The same working day. Then we agree a date that works for you, with a fixed price before work starts.
Will you regas my air conditioning on a service?
Not as a routine part of the service. If a system has lost refrigerant, it has leaked from somewhere. Where the checks point to a leak, we explain the options for finding and fixing it.
How much time does an air con service need?
As a guide, it takes an hour or two for most homes, and longer where there are several indoor units or a ducted system. Ducted units in ceiling voids and outdoor units in awkward places can add time and we’ll let you know before the visit.
Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e, and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e.
Looking after it afterwards
To keep the system working properly:
- Leave space around the outdoor unit for air to flow
- Make sure the condensate outlet can drain
- Report drips, smells or noises early
For systems that need them, the leak check and its result go on record, and the next check is due within the period the rules set. We can book it in ahead of time.
Check that the condensate pipe outside can still drain. A pipe that is been knocked or covered can back up into the indoor unit.
From one of our customers
“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
