Air conditioning servicing in Pyrton, done properly
Some systems need F-gas leak checks by law, and some do not. Under the GOV.UK rules, 5 to under 50 tCO2e means a leak check at least every 12 months, and 50 to under 500 tCO2e means every 6 months. We work out where your system sits and check it accordingly. The work covers multi-split systems, ceiling cassettes and air-to-air heat pumps, and the jobs we see most are systems that need a 6 or 12-monthly leak check and a system that struggles to cool on warm days.
We plan the trip to Pyrton and can service more than one unit in one visit.
Warranty on the equipment is the manufacturer’s own, on the manufacturer’s terms, and we explain those terms on your quote. Each brand sets its own conditions, and we’re happy to talk you through them.

When something else is needed
Air conditioning servicing cannot fix everything, and we will tell you before we start. It will not put right:
- A failed compressor, fan motor or circuit board, which needs a repair
- Lost refrigerant, where the fix is a leak repair
- A unit that was undersized when it was chosen
If in doubt, call us on 07833 053749 and we will say what we think before booking.
What the work covers
- Multi-split systems
- Ceiling cassettes
- VRF systems
- Wall-mounted split systems
- Air-to-air heat pumps
- Ducted systems
How the visit works
The visit has three parts, a bit like a doctor’s appointment: diagnose, treat and sign off. First we check the system or the space against the plan, then the work itself, and finally everything is tested, recorded and explained. Most of the time goes on the middle part, and that takes a short visit for one split system, longer for multi-split, ducted or commercial plant. If a lane or gateway near Pyrton is tight for a van, let us know and we will plan for it.
- First, we agree a time and confirm the cost of the service.
- We switch the system on and check it in operation.
- Then the cleaning: filters, coils, fan and the drain line.
- We check the wiring, controls and refrigerant circuit, and leak check systems that need it.
- We run the system again and leave you a service record.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about parking and loading
- Let us know if the building has a permit or sign-in process
- Find the manual or the paperwork for the system, if you have it

Advice
What a service looks like in Pyrton
Central Pyrton is inside the Pyrton Conservation Area. Draw a one-mile circle round the middle of Pyrton and it takes in 3 conservation areas. Listed buildings are part of the picture here: about 15 within half a mile of the centre, such as Church of St Mary (grade II*). Swapping an outdoor unit on a listed building or in a conservation area may need consent, so we will flag it if a replacement is needed. The Valuation Office Agency’s council tax figures put about 36% of homes across Pyrton and its surrounding area before 1919, and about 78% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the 2021 Census. Access to the outdoor unit is the one detail that most changes how a visit is planned.
Site managers at schools like Watlington Primary School can have the site’s units serviced during a holiday.

What we’re called out for in Pyrton
The outdoor unit lives outside. Leaves, grime and plant growth gather on the fins and around the unit and that restricts the airflow it relies on.
Any of these is worth a proper look:
- Frost or ice on the refrigerant pipes
- Noisy fans or rattling from the outdoor unit
- An unpleasant odour when the system runs
Spring is a good time for a service, before the system is needed for cooling.
What your quote should include
- Whether the quote is a fixed price
- Whether the manufacturer’s warranty depends on regular servicing
- Whether testing, commissioning and paperwork are included
Pyrton questions
How often should air conditioning in Pyrton be serviced?
A yearly visit is right for most households. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.
Do you cover Pyrton for air conditioning servicing?
Yes, Pyrton is within the area we cover. Get in touch with the details and we reply the same working day.
Why does F-Gas certification matter?
The law says any company working on equipment containing F gas has to be certified, and the engineers need their own qualifications. It means the refrigerant in your system is handled legally.
Do you top up refrigerant during a service?
We check refrigerant performance on every service, but adding gas is separate work. If it’s low, a leak repair comes first and the regas follows with a fixed price for each step.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We work for homeowners, landlords, letting and managing agents, and businesses of every size in Pyrton and across Oxfordshire. Let us know who the records should go to.
Which manufacturers do you install and repair?
We install and work on the leading makes, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. Tell us the make and model and we’ll take it from there.
Who is responsible for leak checks?
Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Systems below 5 tCO2e fall outside the set leak check intervals, while larger ones need checks at least every 12 months, or every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We’ll work out which band applies to yours.

Before you call an engineer
Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and refrigerant lines can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.
Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo or a short video of the display is even better.
A customer’s words
“Very professional from the initial survey through to installation. The engineer explained everything clearly and the quote was exactly what we paid. Would not hesitate to recommend AirCon Doctor.”
