Crosspost air conditioning servicing
We cover Crosspost for air conditioning servicing. A look at the job first, a fixed-price quote and written records at the end.
- Warning lights on the indoor unit
- An unpleasant odour when the system runs
- Weaker cooling than last year
How we handle air conditioning servicing in Crosspost
A service is as much a check-up as a clean. We listen to the fans, look at the pipework and insulation, test the controls and check the electrical connections are sound, then explains anything that looks like it could cause a problem later. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, multi-split systems and ceiling cassettes, and people most often call us about systems that haven’t been serviced for a while and water dripping from the indoor unit.
Most systems around Crosspost need servicing once a year, ideally in spring before the warm weather.
The records are your system’s health record: a dated account of the work and the readings we took. If anything goes wrong later, it helps the next engineer and the manufacturer and it’s worth keeping safe.

Looking after your system
A little care keeps the system in better shape. We recommend:
- Leave space around the outdoor unit for air to flow
- Keep the filters clean between visits
- File each service record with the manufacturer’s documents
If we find a fault, we explain it and give you a price to put it right. Nothing extra is done without your say-so, so you stay in control of the cost.
Book a service at least once a year, and more often if the system works hard or the rules require it.
How the visit works
Anything involving refrigerant is handled by F-Gas qualified engineers, as the law requires, and electrical work is done by us as NICEIC approved contractors. On the day, both are in the same hands. On site, it takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit. Photos of the room and the outside of the property help us plan a visit to Crosspost.
- You tell us the brand, the number of indoor units and any symptoms.
- Each indoor unit has its covers lifted so the filters, coil and tray can be cleaned.
- Outside, the coil is cleaned, the fan checked and the area cleared.
- We test the electrics, the controls and how the refrigerant circuit is performing.
- We explain what we found and price any repair before it’s done.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, high walls or locked plant areas
- Move furniture away from the wall where we will be working
- Arrange for someone to be there to let us in

Here’s what helps us quote: where the property is and what kind of building it is, photos of the rooms or units, the make and model of any existing system and anything you’ve noticed, such as an error code or a noise. Once you have those, phone 07833 053749.
Advice
How the job changes from property to property
Filters
The filter is the first line of defence for the indoor unit. We clean them and check for damage, and if a filter is past its best we tell you.
Condensate drains and pumps
Cooling pulls moisture out of the air, and that water has to drain away. We clean the drain tray and clear the pipe so the water has a clear path out.

Managing agents and facilities teams in Crosspost
Landlords, letting agents and managing agents book us, not only the people who live or work in the property. Tell us who the contact on site is and who should receive the paperwork and we will copy in whoever needs it.
When the building owner and the occupier are different, the lease or tenancy agreement normally sets out who maintains what. We are happy to deal with either side, and the paperwork can go to both.
Your questions about air conditioning servicing in Crosspost
Do you cover Crosspost for air conditioning servicing?
Yes. We work across London and the South East from our base in East Grinstead, and Crosspost is part of that. Just give us a ring on 07833 053749 with a few details.
How often should air conditioning in Crosspost be serviced?
For most homes, once a year. Some manufacturers’ warranty terms ask for regular servicing, so it’s worth keeping the records.
Does my air conditioning need an F-gas leak check?
It depends on the system’s tonnes of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e). At 5 to under 50 tCO2e, it’s at least every 12 months; at 50 to under 500 tCO2e, every 6 months. Hermetically sealed systems holding less than 10 tCO2e do not need them.
Do you protect the property while you work?
Floors and furniture near the work are covered with dust sheets before we start, and we tidy up as we go. Before we leave, we clear up and run through the work with you.
What accreditations do you have?
F-Gas company certification, NICEIC approval for electrical work and MCS certification for heat pumps, and we’re Checkatrade members. Engineers who handle refrigerant hold their own F-gas qualifications as well.
Do you offer air conditioning maintenance contracts?
Yes, with visits planned to suit how hard the system works. We agree the cost up front and you get a record after each visit.
Can you set up regular servicing?
Yes. Maintenance contracts are part of what we do, with visits at the interval your system and the manufacturer need. Each visit is written up, with F-Gas records where refrigerant work is involved.
What a service looks like in Crosspost
Listed buildings are part of the picture here: about 10 within half a mile of the centre, such as The Parish Church of Mary Magdalene (grade I). We keep it in mind in case a new outdoor unit is ever needed, as protected buildings can need consent for that. The last census (2021) found about 60% of households in detached or semi-detached houses. A photo of the outdoor unit and its surroundings tells us what access the visit needs.
A service once a year suits most home systems, and some business systems need more. For a school like Bolney CofE Primary School, maintenance visits can be booked out of term.

A customer’s words
“Office air con broke down in the July heatwave. Called at 8am, engineer was here by noon and fixed within 2 hours. Brilliant emergency response. They now hold the service contract for the whole building.”
