Air conditioning servicing in Chichester
An air conditioning service is a check and clean of the whole system, indoor and outdoor units together. Filters and coils are cleaned, the drain is cleared, and the electrics, controls and refrigerant performance are all checked. We service systems in Chichester and across West Sussex, whatever the make. The work covers ducted systems, wall-mounted split systems and ceiling cassettes, and the jobs we see most are frost or ice on the refrigerant pipes and weaker cooling than last year.
If your system in Chichester smells musty, drips or has lost some of its cooling, a service is often the first fix, and if it finds a fault, we explain it and price the repair.
AirCon Doctor is an F-Gas certified company and NICEIC approved for electrical work, with MCS certification for heat pumps and Checkatrade membership. Refrigerant work is done by engineers who hold the F-gas qualifications the law requires.

What happens on the day
Our engineers bring the tools, gauges and access equipment the job needs. You only need to give us clear access to the units, or their planned positions, and to the fuse board. The visit takes around an hour for one indoor and one outdoor unit, with extra time for each additional indoor unit. Send us a few phone pictures and we can plan most of the visit to Chichester.
- We ask about the system: the make, the number of indoor units and any problems you’ve noticed.
- We run the system first and see how it’s performing.
- Filters, coils and the condensate drain are cleaned and cleared.
- Next come the terminals, the controller and the refrigerant side, with a leak check if the system’s size makes one a legal duty.
- A service record follows, with any faults and the options for fixing them.
Getting ready for the visit
- Name a contact who can meet us at the agreed time
- Unlock any gate, garage or side passage we need
- Keep pets out of the rooms we are working in

Advice
Different systems, different jobs
Wall-mounted, ducted and cassette units
In most homes, the indoor units are wall-mounted. They open up for the filters, coil and fan to be cleaned, and the drain is checked at the same time.
Condensate drains and pumps
Cooling pulls moisture out of the air, and that water has to drain away. The tray is cleaned and the pipe flushed through so it flows properly.
Chichester: your questions answered
Do you cover Chichester for air conditioning servicing?
We do: Chichester falls inside our working area. Just call 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form with a few details.
How often do you service systems in Chichester?
Typically once a year for homes, more often for busy business systems. Business systems may also need F-gas leak checks, at least every 12 months from 5 tonnes CO2 equivalent.
How long will the engineer be here for the service?
It takes anything from an hour for a simple split system to most of a day for a larger installation. The number of indoor units and how easy they are to reach make the biggest difference, and we will give you an idea when we book.
Do you work on commercial properties?
Yes. Homeowners, landlords, agents and businesses all book us across London and the South East. Tell us who should receive the paperwork.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes. For anything urgent, such as a system failing in a server room or water leaking from a unit, ring our 24/7 line and we will tell you what to do first.
What do you check on an air conditioning service?
A clean of the parts that collect dirt and a check of the parts that do the work. Filters, coils and drains are cleaned, and the electrics, controls and refrigerant circuit checked, and F-gas leak checks where they apply.
Do you offer air conditioning maintenance contracts?
Yes, with visits planned to suit how hard the system works. The price is fixed with your quote and you get a record after every visit.
Landlords, agents and facilities managers
Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works, and we will send a fixed-price quote.
For anyone managing more than one building, we can quote and plan the work across all of them. Every address has its own paperwork, so each one has its own history.
Do you need air conditioning servicing in Chichester?
The outdoor unit lives outside. Leaves, dirt and debris collect on the coil and around the casing, which makes it harder for the unit to shed or pick up heat.
Look out for any of the following:
- Systems that need a 6 or 12-monthly leak check
- Weaker cooling than last year
- Iced-up coils or pipework
Offices and shops near Chichester station can have their systems serviced without closing.
What your quote should include
- Proof of F-Gas company certification
- How extra work would be agreed if they find something unexpected
- Whether anyone has checked the property or the system first
