Our air conditioning service in TN20
Any installation we do in TN20 follows the same process as everywhere else we work: a site survey, or photos for simple jobs, then a fixed-price quote, the installation, commissioning and F-Gas records. You know the price before work begins and the paperwork is in your hands when we finish. The work covers multi-split systems, air-to-air heat pumps and ceiling cassettes, and common reasons people get in touch are bedrooms and offices that overheat in summer and rooms heated by plug-in heaters.
The visit has three parts, a bit like a doctor’s appointment: look, put right and sign off. First we check the system or the space against the plan, then the work itself, and finally everything is tested, recorded and explained. Most of the time goes on the middle part, which takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems.
- We survey the rooms and the outside of the property, or work from photos and details for simple jobs.
- Each room is sized and you get a fixed-price quote setting out the equipment and the unit positions.
- The units go up and the pipework, cable and condensate drain are run neatly between them.
- Power is wired in, the joints are proved leak-tight under pressure and a vacuum pump draws out air and moisture.
- The system is commissioned and checked in every mode, and we hand over the controls, F-Gas records and warranty information.

How to get a quote
The quickest way to a quote is to send photos: the room or the existing unit, the outside wall or roof where the outdoor unit sits or would go, and the label on any existing unit. Tell us the address and what you need, and many jobs can be priced from that.
Landmarks near Mayfield
In Mayfield, that means homes and buildings near Mayfield Church of England Primary School, Church of St. Dunstan and The Royal Oak Inn, among other places. Mayfield’s nearest station is Crowborough station, roughly 3.6 miles north-west of the centre. Well-known places in the area include Crowborough War Memorial Hospital (5 miles north-west). Not far away are Crowborough Country Park.
Air conditioning around TN20
Our air conditioning work across TN20 takes in places such as Mayfield, Wellbrook and Five Ashes and the smaller places around them. Every place on our TN20 list (8 in all) is covered.
TN20 is part of a working area that runs from Greater London to the Sussex coast and out to Oxfordshire and Essex. You reach the same people wherever you are in it.
Mayfield: With historic houses such as Wadhurst Castle about 4.3 miles north-east, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules. If your home is in one of the older streets near Church of St. Dunstan, it’s worth checking whether it’s listed or in a conservation area before an install.
For landlords and property managers
The F-gas rules share responsibility for leak checking between the equipment’s operator and the service technicians. In a let or managed building, it’s worth agreeing who that operator is, and we can work for either side.
If you look after several properties, we can plan visits across the portfolio and price them together. Each property gets its own records, so each one has its own history.
Owner checks or an engineer?
Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrical side needs a competent person. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.
Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It makes our diagnosis quicker, and a photo of the display helps even more.
Keeping the system healthy
Here’s the after-treatment advice, in brief:
- Leave space around the outdoor unit
- Keep the room closed while it runs
- Refit filters properly after cleaning
- Avoid setting it far colder than you need
We clear up before we go: dust sheets lifted, offcuts and packaging cleared, and the holes for the pipework sealed. Pipework outside is covered in trunking or insulated and neatly fixed as agreed on the survey.
Set it and leave it. A moderate set temperature cools the room just as well as the lowest one, without the waste, and close windows and doors while it’s cooling.
What affects the quote in TN20
The quote reflects the job in front of us. We consider:
- How far the pipework has to run, and where
- The number of rooms, units or zones
- Which make and model is being fitted or worked on
- What electrical work the job needs
One room or a whole building, we price it on the same basis: what needs doing, how we get to it and what it needs. You will have a fixed price before work begins, with VAT shown clearly.
Asking for a quote
Before you ask for a quote, gather:
- A few pictures of the room and the wall the unit is on, or will go on
- The remote or wall controller showing any error
- The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
- The rating plate or label on any existing unit
Some jobs can be priced from photos, while others need a survey. Bigger systems, commercial sites and awkward pipe routes are normally surveyed on site. Either way, the quote is fixed before anything goes ahead.
Questions from TN20
Do you offer emergency call-outs?
Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 for breakdowns that can’t wait. Ring 07833 053749 any time and explain the problem.
Do you work in TN20?
Yes. We work in TN20 and across East Sussex, as part of our area across London and the South East. For a fixed-price quote, give us a ring on 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk.
Where does the outdoor unit go?
We agree it with you on the survey. It needs space around it to breathe and room for an engineer to service it, and a position facing a road can bring extra planning considerations. We explain the options and any permissions to check.
Should I choose wall-mounted, ducted or cassette?
The right one depends on how many rooms you want to cool, how much space there is outside and how visible you want the indoor units to be. Ducted units need a void or loft, and cassettes need a suspended ceiling, which we check on the survey.
Do you work on systems someone else installed?
Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including anything about the original installation that needs putting right. Any work is priced before it goes ahead.
What warranty do I get?
Warranty comes from the manufacturer and depends on the brand and product. For instance, Daikin’s standard warranty on split air conditioning is 2 years and we explain the terms for your brand on the quote.
What does F-Gas certified mean?
For refrigerant work, both the engineer and the company need the right F-gas credentials. Ask to see proof before booking anyone, and we are happy to show ours.
