About air conditioning in SP10
Single-room systems are typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT, while a two-room multi-split is typically £2,800–£4,500 + VAT and three to five rooms £4,500–£8,500 + VAT. Supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation are all included, and commercial VRF systems are priced after a survey. The work covers ducted systems, ceiling cassettes and VRF systems, and the jobs we see most are a study or office that overheats during the day and expensive direct electric heating.
On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you and check the plan with you first. Dust sheets go down over floors and anything close to the work, and the electrics are made safe before any panel comes off. The work itself takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system.
- You send photos, or we visit and survey the rooms and outside.
- Output, positions and price are settled before anything is booked.
- Sheets go down first, then the indoor unit and the condenser are mounted.
- Pipework, cable and drain are run, the circuit is connected and the pipework is pressure tested and evacuated.
- It’s switched on, checked and handed over with its records.
How we quote
One room or a whole building, we price it on the same basis: what needs doing, how we get to it and what it needs. You will have a fixed price before we start, and the quote sets out the VAT.
What you get with us
- NICEIC approved for electrical work
- Checkatrade member
- One contact for properties across the South East and London
- Enquiries answered the same working day
Getting a price
Photos are the fastest route to a quote: the inside and outside of the property where the work is, plus the rating plate of any unit already there. Add the address and what you’d like done, and simple jobs can often be priced without a visit.
Local landmarks in Andover
Around Andover, our work takes us to homes and businesses near Church of St Mary, Winton Community Academy and Winton Community Academy. Other local landmarks include The Angel Inn (under half a mile east) and St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School (under half a mile west). The closest station to Andover is Andover station, about 0.5 miles west of the centre. Nearby you’ll also find Andover War Memorial Hospital (0.7 miles north-west) and Andover Museum (within half a mile east). Green spaces nearby include Anton Lakes and Mill Lake.
Air conditioning across SP10
In SP10, we install in places such as Andover, Picket Twenty and Finkley Down and well beyond. Every place on our SP10 list (6 in all) is covered.
We are based in East Grinstead and work across London and the South East, SP10 included. Each job starts with a survey and a fixed-price quote.
Andover: If you commute from Andover station and work from home on other days, one wall-mounted unit in the home office is often all that is needed. Homes near Church of St Mary are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.
Owner checks or an engineer?
Write down what you notice: error codes, noises, drips, smells or a drop in performance. It helps us diagnose quickly, and a photo of the display helps even more.
Before you call us about a fault, a few checks can save a visit: check the mode, the set temperature, the remote’s batteries and the breaker. If the breaker trips a second time, leave it off and give us a ring on 07833 053749 or send an email.
What we are called out for in SP10
Some people come to us for heating rather than cooling. Direct electric heaters convert electricity into heat one for one, while an air-to-air heat pump moves heat from outside, which means more heat out than electricity in. That’s how most modern split systems work.
Most people get in touch when they notice something like this:
- A portable unit with a hose out of the window
- A room that is unbearable on warm days
- A loft conversion that’s too warm to use
- Rooms heated by plug-in heaters
Aftercare tips
Once we have finished, these simple steps help:
- Don’t cover or box in the outdoor unit
- File the paperwork with the manual
- Keep the room closed while it runs
- Wash or vacuum the filters as the manual describes
Before we leave, the system is commissioned and tested in each mode. Once it’s running properly, we take you through the controls and settings, so you are confident using it.
Book an annual service. The engineer cleans the coils and drain, checks the electrics and the refrigerant circuit and catches small problems early, and it keeps any warranty servicing conditions in order.
Why deal with it now?
Size matters more than brand. Too small, and it runs flat out without catching up; too big, and it switches on and off and wastes energy. Sizing each room properly on the survey avoids both.
What your quote should include
- Whether extra work needs your approval first
- Whose warranty applies, and on what terms
- Why the equipment they’re quoting suits the job
- Whether you get F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved
Common questions in SP10
Who is responsible for leak checks?
The F-gas rules share it between the equipment’s operator and the engineers who work on it. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.
What size air conditioning unit do I need?
Floor area is only part of it. Windows, the direction the room faces, the roof above and the people and equipment in it all count, and we take them all into account on the survey.
Does air conditioning need its own electrical supply?
Usually, yes. The fuse board is checked on the survey, and any electrical work goes on the quote, and our NICEIC approval covers the installation and certificate.
Will I need planning permission?
Not necessarily. On a house, air-to-water heat pumps and, since 2025, air-to-air systems that heat as well as cool can be permitted development if they meet the conditions. Permission is more likely to come up for cooling-only units, listed buildings, flats and road-facing positions in conservation areas, and we tell you at the survey. This is general information, not legal advice.
Do you work on systems someone else installed?
Yes. We look at it first and tell you what we find, including any issues with how it was fitted. You get a fixed price before any work goes ahead.
How much is air conditioning for one room?
From £1,200 + VAT for a single-room split, with a typical range of £1,200–£2,200 + VAT. The price includes supply, installation, commissioning and F-Gas documentation, and we fix it after a survey or from your pictures.
Will I get records for the system?
Yes, on every job. New installations come with commissioning details, F-Gas records and warranty information, while repairs and services get a written note of what was found and done.
