Air conditioning in HP12: how it works

We install leading brands, including Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons for it, and the manufacturer’s warranty terms are set out on your quote. The work covers multi-split systems, air-to-air heat pumps and ceiling cassettes, and common reasons people get in touch are an office, shop or restaurant that’s uncomfortable for staff and customers and working from home in a room that gets too warm.

There’s very little for you to do on the day. Someone needs to let us in and show us the units, or where they’re going, and we take it from there. Before we leave, the area is tidied and we explain what we have done.

  1. We survey the property, or work from your photos for a simple job.
  2. Each room is sized and the unit positions agreed, then you get a fixed-price quote.
  3. On the day, dust sheets go down and the indoor and outdoor units are fitted.
  4. We run and connect the pipes, cable and drain, then pressure test and evacuate the circuit.
  5. It’s switched on, checked and handed over with its records.

What affects the price in HP12

The price reflects the work, not guesswork. That’s why every job is looked at first, and the price is agreed before any work starts.

Why people in HP12 choose us

  • Diagnosis first, then a fixed price
  • One number for homes and businesses across London and the South East
  • Fixed-price quotes after a survey or pictures
  • F-Gas company certification

Get a fixed-price quote

Every quote starts with a look at the job, from a site survey or, where the job is straightforward, from pictures and measurements. Then you get a fixed price before any work starts.

Around Booker

In Booker, that means homes and buildings near The Squirrel pub, Booker Hill School and Cressex Community School and the streets around them. Booker’s nearest station is High Wycombe station, roughly 2.1 miles east. Other landmarks nearby include Wycombe Hospital (1.6 miles east) and Chiltern Sound Phonograph Museum (3.3 miles south). Open spaces near Booker include Gomm's Wood.

Air conditioning across HP12: local notes

In HP12, we install in places such as High Wycombe and Booker and well beyond. Every place on our HP12 list (2 in all) is covered.

Enquiries from HP12 get a reply on the working day they arrive. For a breakdown, use the 24/7 line.

Booker: With historic houses such as West Wycombe Park House about 1.6 miles north, it’s a reminder that older homes nearby may be listed, which changes the planning rules. Homes near Church of Christ the Servant King are a good example of where we look up the heritage status of the building before fixing anything to it.

What affects the cost of air conditioning

You’ll get a fixed price before any work starts. It’s based on:

  • What kind of system it is
  • The brand, model and parts involved
  • One-off work versus a regular service cycle
  • The condition of any existing system

Whatever the property, the quote works the same way: the equipment, the access, the work involved and the time it takes. Ask for a fixed-price quote and we’ll explain each part.

Helping us quote

Simple jobs can often be priced from pictures and some basics. Send what you can of the following:

  • A few pictures of the room and the wall the unit is on, or will go on
  • A short video of any fault, such as a noise or a flashing light
  • Where the property is and what kind of building it is
  • The outside wall, roof or yard where the outdoor unit sits or would go

Need a price for air conditioning? Please give us a ring on 07833 053749 or drop us a line with a few details about the property. We will explain what we’d recommend and why, then send a fixed-price quote before anything is booked.

Managing agents and facilities teams in HP12

The F-gas rules share responsibility for leak checking between the equipment’s operator and the service technicians. Where a building is let or managed, the lease or contract should make clear who looks after the system, and we can work for either side.

Whether it’s one property or many, the approach is the same: a look at the job first, a fixed-price quote, work booked with the occupier and written records afterwards.

What air conditioning cannot fix

We’d rather tell you now than sell you work that will not help, so these are the things it won’t cover:

  • A building fabric problem such as single glazing or no loft insulation
  • Stuffy rooms that need fresh air rather than cooling
  • Building damp that has a structural cause

What you can do yourself, and what needs us

Never try to top up, release or handle refrigerant yourself. The law requires anyone working on equipment containing F gas to hold the right qualifications, and the company to be certified, and escaping refrigerant can cause cold burns. A suspected leak is our job, not yours.

There are a few things you can safely do yourself: keeping the outdoor unit clear, checking the mode and set temperature, and the routine cleaning in the manual. Anything inside the units, the electrics and the refrigerant is engineer’s work.

HP12: your questions answered

Can I do any of the installation myself?

Not the refrigerant work. The F-gas rules require certified companies and qualified engineers for it, and a new electrical circuit is notifiable building work unless a registered competent person does it.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

Anyone installing, repairing or servicing the refrigerant side must be qualified, and their company certified. Ask to see proof before you book anyone, and we are happy to show ours.

Do you provide F-Gas records?

Yes, on every job. A new system comes with commissioning details, F-Gas records and the manufacturer’s warranty information, while repairs and services get a written note of what was found and done.

Do you offer emergency call-outs?

Yes, day and night. Call the emergency line and tell us the make, the symptoms and any error code, and we will talk you through the next steps.

What does it cost to install air conditioning?

Typically £1,200–£2,200 + VAT for a single-room split, depending on the room, the access and the pipe route. Where you sit in the range depends on pipe length, access, electrics and the model, and commercial systems are priced after a survey.

Should I choose wall-mounted, ducted or cassette?

It depends on the rooms and the building. Wall-mounted splits suit single rooms, multi-splits run several rooms from one outdoor unit, ducted systems hide the unit in the ceiling, and cassettes suit offices and larger rooms. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons.

Where does the outdoor unit go?

The position is agreed on the survey, not on the day. It needs space around it to breathe and room for an engineer to service it, and walls or roofs facing a road can raise planning questions. We explain the options and any permissions to check.
