Our air conditioning service in GU28

Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Toshiba, LG, Samsung, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi are among the brands we fit. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons for it, along with the manufacturer’s warranty terms on your quote. The work covers multi-split systems, VRF systems and air-to-air heat pumps, and common reasons people get in touch are a portable unit with a hose out of the window and an office, shop or restaurant that’s uncomfortable for staff and customers.

Testing is the last part of the visit wherever the system can be switched on. Then we explain what was done and answer your questions, and anything that needs a follow-up is pointed out there and then. All told, the work takes about a day for a single-room system, longer for multi-room and ducted systems.

  1. First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
  2. Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
  3. Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where needed.
  4. Testing: the circuit is pressure tested and evacuated before the refrigerant is released.
  5. Finally, the clean bill of health: commissioning, the controls explained and your paperwork handed over.

How to get a quote

VAT is set out clearly on every quote, with the rate that applies to your job. Homes, businesses and different kinds of work can be treated differently for VAT, so we confirm it on the quote. For a fixed-price quote, phone us on 07833 053749 or write to us at info@aircondoctor.co.uk.

What’s near Petworth

Around Petworth, our work takes us to homes and businesses near The Old Square Tavern, Petworth Cof E Primary School and Sacred Heart Church and the streets around them. Petworth’s nearest station is Pulborough station, roughly 4.4 miles south-east of the centre. Other landmarks nearby include Coates Castle (2.6 miles south) and Coultershaw Heritage Site (1.2 miles south). Open spaces near Petworth include The Mens.

Air conditioning around GU28

Planning rules are the same across England, GU28 included: cooling-only units are not covered, listed buildings need consent and conservation areas restrict outdoor units facing a road.

Across London and the South East, we reply to enquiries the same working day, and our emergency line is open 24/7.

Petworth: About 0.3 miles north stands Petworth House. Listed homes in any area need consent first, so tell us if yours is one. If your home is in one of the older streets near Sacred Heart Church, it’s worth checking whether it’s listed or in a conservation area before an install.

Rented and managed buildings

We also work for facilities teams in offices, schools and public buildings in GU28 and across West Sussex. Work can be phased by floor, zone or building around the people who use them.

Running several properties is easier with one contractor. We work across London and the South East, so a run of properties can go into one programme and kept to a regular schedule.

Why act early?

Planning ahead beats a rushed decision in a heatwave. A rushed choice is often the wrong size or in the wrong place, and that’s hard to put right later. A survey now gives time to choose properly.

What your quote should include

  • Whether anyone has checked the property or the system first
  • Whether the price is fixed or an estimate
  • How VAT is shown, and which rate applies
  • Whose warranty applies, and on what terms

Owner checks or an engineer?

Leave the units and pipework where they are. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

Owners can handle the everyday basics: keep the outdoor unit clear of leaves, plants and clutter, check the settings and the remote, and follow the cleaning the manual describes. Opening up the units, the electrics and the refrigerant circuit are a job for us.

System by system

Outdoor unit positions

Where outside space is tight, the outdoor unit position shapes the whole design. We look at walls, roofs, balconies and yards on the survey and we flag any consent you may need.

Offices, shops and commercial rooms

Bigger systems in buildings come with extra duties, such as a TM44 inspection by an accredited energy assessor at least every 5 years. We can arrange the inspection and get the system ready for it.

Questions from GU28

Do I need to service the system to keep the warranty?

It can, for some brands. Read the manufacturer’s terms, or send us the make and model and we will explain them and stick to the interval they set.

Is air conditioning possible in a flat?

That depends on the lease, the building and where the outdoor unit could go. An outdoor unit can sometimes go on a balcony, roof or rear wall, with consent, and we check the options on the survey. This is general information, not legal advice.

Who has to arrange F-Gas leak checks?

Responsibility is shared between the operator, typically whoever owns or controls the equipment, and the service technicians. The interval depends on the refrigerant charge, measured in tonnes of CO2 equivalent: at least yearly for 5 to under 50 tCO2e, and every 6 months for 50 to under 500 tCO2e.

Which type of system should I choose?

There’s no single best type. A split suits one room, a multi-split several, a ducted system hides the unit, and a cassette spreads air across larger rooms. The survey ends with a recommendation and the reasons.

Do you work on commercial properties?

Yes. We work for homeowners, landlords, letting and managing agents, and businesses of every size in GU28 and across West Sussex. Tell us who should receive the paperwork.

Do I need planning permission?

Not necessarily. On a house, air-to-water heat pumps and, since 2025, air-to-air systems that heat as well as cool can be permitted development if they meet the conditions. Permission is more likely to come up for cooling-only units, listed buildings, flats and road-facing positions in conservation areas and the survey picks it up. This is general information, not legal advice.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. We offer maintenance contracts, with visits at the interval your system and the manufacturer need. Each visit is written up, with F-Gas records where refrigerant work is involved.
