Air conditioning in CO2

How air conditioning works in CO2

We fit wall-mounted splits, multi-split systems, ducted systems and ceiling cassettes, plus VRF systems for bigger commercial buildings. The right choice depends on the rooms, the building and how visible you want the indoor units to be and we talk you through it on the survey. Typical jobs include rooms heated by plug-in heaters and a portable unit with a hose out of the window, on air-to-air heat pumps, ducted systems and multi-split systems.

Everything the job needs comes with us, from tools and test equipment to ladders and dust sheets. You only need to give us clear access to the units, or their planned positions, and to the fuse board. The visit takes anything from a day for one room to several days for a multi-room or ducted system.

  1. First the diagnosis: a survey of the rooms, the walls, the outside and the electrics.
  2. Then the prescription: the right system and size for each room, on a fixed-price quote.
  3. Then the work: units up, pipes and drain run, and a new circuit where needed.
  4. Before it runs, the pipework is proved tight and put under vacuum.
  5. The sign-off: commissioning, a walk through the controls, and the F-Gas records and warranty details.

What you will pay

The cost depends on the type of system and how many units are involved, how easy the units are to reach and what the work involves. You get a fixed price before work begins, so there are no surprises.

Around Berechurch

In Berechurch, that means homes and buildings near St Margarets, Thomas Lord Audley School and Language College and Donyland Lodge, among other places. The nearest railway station is Colchester Town station, roughly 1.8 miles north of the centre. Well-known places in the area include Essex County Hospital (1.9 miles north) and Colchester Castle (2.1 miles north). Not far away are Roman River Valley.

Air conditioning around CO2

In CO2, we install in places such as Colchester, Camulodunum and Greenstead and well beyond. Every place on our CO2 list (14 in all) is covered.

CO2 is part of a working area that runs from Greater London to the Sussex coast and out to Oxfordshire and Essex. You reach the same people wherever you are in it.

Berechurch: Most people start with the room that gets hottest, then add more rooms on a multi-split if needed. Around St Margarets, a quick check of the listing and conservation maps is part of planning any install.

Safe owner checks

Do not move, re-route or disconnect units or pipework yourself. Disconnecting a system means dealing with refrigerant, which only a qualified engineer can do, and the electrics need care too. If you need something moved, we can quote for it.

On air conditioning, the filters in the indoor unit are normally the one part owners can clean, if the manual says so. They come out, get a gentle clean and go back only when they’re dry. For a heat pump, the main owner jobs are a clear outdoor unit and sensible control settings.

How we price air conditioning

Some jobs are bigger than they look, and some smaller. What affects the quote:

  • The number of rooms, units or zones
  • What electrical work the job needs
  • The distance and route between the indoor and outdoor units
  • What we find on the survey or diagnosis

No two properties are the same, so we price each one individually. The equipment, how we reach it, the route between units and the work needed all make a difference.

Before you get in touch

Photos and a few facts are often enough to price a simple job. Send what you can of the following:

  • The outdoor side of the property, including any roof or flat area
  • Your installation or service records
  • Photos showing the indoor unit and the space around it
  • The postcode and whether it’s a home, flat or business

If you need air conditioning in CO2, ring 07833 053749 or fill in the contact form. Let us know the type of property and what you need, and send a few photos if you can. We reply the same working day.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

For anyone managing more than one building, we can plan visits across the portfolio and price them together. Each property gets its own records, so each one has its own history.

Records are where property maintenance often slips. Every visit is written up, plus the F-Gas records where refrigerant is involved, so you can show what was done and when.

Why deal with it now?

Refrigerant rules have changed what new systems use. From 2025, single splits under 3 kg can’t use refrigerants with a GWP over 750, which is why R32, with a GWP of 675, is now common. Older R410A systems have a GWP of 2088.

Questions to ask before booking

  • What records you get at the end
  • Whether testing, commissioning and paperwork are included
  • Whether anyone has checked the property or the system first
  • The make and model of any parts or equipment being quoted

CO2: your questions answered

Do you cover CO2?

Yes. Our engineers work in CO2, as part of our area across London and the South East. We’re based in East Grinstead, West Sussex.

Why does F-Gas certification matter?

F-Gas certification shows a company is approved to work on equipment containing fluorinated gases, such as the refrigerant in air conditioning and heat pumps. In Great Britain, that certification is a legal requirement, not an optional extra, and we hold it.

Whose job is it to check the system for leaks?

Whoever operates the equipment, together with the technicians who service it. Larger systems need regular checks: at least every 12 months from 5 tCO2e and every 6 months from 50 tCO2e. We’ll work out which band applies to yours.

When will I hear back?

The same working day. Then we agree a date that works for you, with a fixed price before work starts.

How do you size the system?

Floor area is only part of it. Windows, the direction the room faces, the roof above and the people and equipment in it all count and the survey covers each of them.

Does servicing affect my warranty?

It can, for some brands. Send us the make and model and we’ll tell you what the manufacturer expects, and book the service at the interval they recommend.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

Yes. From a single let flat to offices, shops and public buildings, the approach is the same: a look first, a fixed-price quote and written records.
