Air source heat pumps for homes and businesses in St Peter's
For an air-to-water heat pump, the price is £8,000–£16,000 (0% VAT on homes), before the grant. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme can provide £7,500 towards an eligible air-to-water system in England and Wales, and as the installer we apply for it on your behalf. Eligibility depends on the property, so we confirm it before anything is agreed. The work covers air-to-air heat pumps, underfloor heating and hot water cylinders, and the jobs we see most are plans to switch to electric heating with a heat pump and replacing a combi boiler with a heat pump.
Whether a home near St Peter's has mains gas makes a difference to the grant. Homes heated by oil or LPG with no mains gas can get an extra £1,500 on the Boiler Upgrade Scheme until March 2027.
Warranty on the equipment is the manufacturer’s own, on the manufacturer’s terms, and we set them out on your quote. Terms differ from brand to brand, so we go through them with you rather than leave you to find the small print.

Leave it or put it right?
Choosing between air-to-water and air-to-air is easier with the facts. Air-to-water heats radiators and hot water, and can attract a £7,500 grant where eligible; air-to-air heats and cools rooms, and only qualifies for £2,500 under strict conditions. We explain which makes sense for you. Planning ahead for a job near St Peter's means we can arrive with everything needed.
What you pay reflects the actual work. That is why every job is looked at first, and why the quote is fixed before any work starts.

What a heat pump looks like in St Peter's
St Peter's is within about 1 mile of the coast. Near the coast, we choose the outdoor unit position with salt-laden wind in mind. The centre of St Peter's lies within the St Peters Conservation Area. 2 conservation areas lie within a mile of central St Peter's. Parish Church of St Peter the Apostle, listed at grade II*, is one of roughly 18 protected buildings and structures in the half-mile around St Peter's’s centre. So the heat pump survey asks two extra questions here: is the home listed, and is it inside a conservation area? About 71% of households live in detached or semi-detached houses, according to the last census (2021). Detached and semi-detached houses normally have room for the outdoor unit and a cylinder.
If your home is one of the older properties near Parish Church of St Peter the Apostle, the survey checks whether it’s listed or in a conservation area before the outdoor unit position is chosen. Quex Park lies about 4.2 miles west. Owners of listed homes need consent before a heat pump is fitted, so it’s one of our first questions.
St Peter's is about 1 mile north-west of Broadstairs, in Kent. Anywhere in CT10, our engineers can take on air source heat pumps. St Peter's is one of 922 places in Kent we cover. Bromley, roughly 61 miles off, has its own page on this site.

How the visit works
Each visit runs to the same pattern: check the plan with you, protect the area, do the work, test what we’ve done and talk you through it. On site, the work takes a few days on site, depending on the cylinder, the radiators and the pipework involved. Send pictures of the space and the outside wall, and we can plan the work near St Peter's.
- First we talk through the property and the current system.
- We measure heat loss for every room.
- The design covers the heat pump, emitters, hot water and outdoor unit.
- You get a fixed price, with any grant and the VAT set out.
- Installation, commissioning and MCS registration complete the job.
How to prepare
- Have the make and model of any existing unit to hand
- Mention any parking restrictions near the property
- Keep pets out of the rooms we’re working in

Before you call an engineer
Good habits make our visits easier, not unnecessary. Clean filters and a clear outdoor unit help the system run as it should, but the refrigerant circuit, the electrics and the parts you cannot see still need an engineer at the interval the manufacturer recommends.
For air conditioning, cleaning the indoor unit’s filters is the main job owners can do where the manufacturer’s manual explains how. With the power off, they lift out, can be vacuumed or rinsed and must be fully dry before they go back. On a heat pump, the equivalent is keeping the outdoor unit clear and checking the controls.
St Peter's questions
Do you cover smaller places like St Peter's?
Yes. St Peter's is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Send a few details and pictures, and we reply the same working day.
Does the Boiler Upgrade Scheme cover homes in St Peter's?
Yes, if the home and the heat pump meet the scheme’s rules: St Peter's is in England, where it applies. Whether your home qualifies, and for how much, depends on the type of heat pump and the heating it replaces. As an MCS certified installer, we apply for it on your behalf.
How soon will you get back to me?
We reply to enquiries the same working day. If it’s an emergency, ring the 24/7 line instead.
Do I get paperwork after the visit?
Yes. You get a written record of each visit, and any work on the refrigerant circuit goes in the F-Gas records. File them with the system’s paperwork.
Can you set up regular servicing?
Yes. Maintenance contracts are part of what we do, set at the interval the system and the manufacturer’s terms need. Every visit is recorded and F-Gas records kept where they apply.
Do I need to service the system to keep the warranty?
Check the manufacturer’s terms. Some warranty terms require the system to be serviced regularly by a qualified engineer, so check the terms or ask us. Keep every service record either way.
Can I do any of the installation myself?
Anything that involves the refrigerant needs an F-Gas qualified engineer from a certified company. That’s a legal requirement, and manufacturers expect it for their warranty too. We can quote for the whole job, from supply to commissioning.

An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what this work can’t put right:
